He auoted Van Sauter If CBS is satisfied with the I By JOAN HANAUER UPI Television Writer NEW YORK iUPl) CBS and NBC can't even agree on how to disagree over family viewing time, while ABC laughs all the way to the top of the ratings. The subject of the CBS-NBC battle is "Baa Baa Black Sheep." which NBC has scheduled for 8-9 p.m.. Eastern time or, Tuesday nights. CBS has protested to the National Association of Broadcasters, the industry association that administers the Broadcasters' Code, that "Black Sheep" is improper family viewing. Gordon Van Sauter, the new CBS vice president, program standards, said.

"We had concerns over the violence, the drinking and the general condoning of what we considered dubious moral values in the first two broadcasts, it these two shows are representative of the series, we feel it is inappropriate for famly viewing." Van Sauter said that his letter was "informal and nonadversarial." Not only does NBC disagree about the family viewing potential of this story of a maverick fighter squadron in the Pacific Theater of World War II. but the network denies Van Sauter's letter was "informal." "Let me read you the first paragraph," said Robert Kasmire. vice president, NBC corporate affairs. He quoted Van letter as follows: "In accordance with NAB procedures, we wish to file a formal complaint about the scheduling of the NBC program 'Baa Baa Black Kasmire conceded the premiere two-hour show had problems. "When we saw the show we were at the point of making judgments for how to schedule the season.

We felt it was okay, although we had some faults to find in detail, in both creative and production standards. We worked it out. they were corrected and hopefully improved the show as an entertainment vehicle." he said. If CBS is satisfied with the XBC answer, the matter drops. If not.

it moves onto the desk of Stockton Helffrich. director of the NAB Code Authority. The NAB authority is moral, and it could impose no penalties except to ask that "Black Steep" be scheduled later in the evening. The puzzler is why a fuss about this show? "Black Sheep" was only able to tie for 45th place in its opener, violence, booze and all, and ranked 46th the following week. ABC.

which dominates that time slot with first and second place in the Nielsens for "Happy Days" and "Lav-erne and Shirley," had no comment on the dispute. The versatility of a restaurant kitchen rests in the hands of a person who truly has the flair to prepare food that provides patrons with new taste sensations. I am very grateful that we have such a person in the RUDRA RESTAURANT who has this rare gift. Martha has been in charge for several months of our homemade soups, daily specials, soft rolls, Stroganoff, French Onion Soup, and so forth. She has a certain gift that allows her to experiment with new ingredient combinations that provide a truly elegant and creative dining experience. So many times resturants must rely on cooks who really don't know what a dish is suppose to taste like: this is why the trend is to steak houses and limited-menu restaurants.

We are extremely fortunate to have a staff that has this remarkable flair for food preparation. In order to take further advantage of our unique situation we also have the CANESH-RUDRA CATERING SERVICE. We have prepared a simple one-page sheet introduction that explains the services available to clubs, sororities, fraternities, busy housewives, wedding parties, receptions, showers, and businesses. Some people are interested in having the whole meal catered from beginning to clean-up. Most people on a budget should really consider having us prepare one, two, or three items as an adjunct to their menu, adding versatility and highlight.

It's not expensive, and of course, you can take the compliments. Parties are a lot of fun, only if you aren't in the kitchen the whole time, or exhausted before it begins. There is no one else in the area who offers the quality and service that we do. Please give us a call at 1731.
