The temperature on the Baylor Stadium Astroturf registered 112 degrees just before kickoff and Allison heated it up even more with his 54-yard touchdown romp on a perfectly executed option play Idle in the opening quarter. Baylor quickly tied the game on an 80-yard sprint up the middle by Greg Hawthorne, but early in the second quarter Allison drove Tech 75 yards and ended he go-ahead march with his perfect touchdown strike to Williams in the flat.
