His deliveries will be blocks, weighing 300 and 400 pounds, to Highland Golf and Country Club and the Columbia Club.

Before they melt down to ice cubes, they'll be chipped into great spectacles of racing for parties relating to the 500-Mile Race. Rudolph Fisher, general manager of Highland, will carve a Mercury-winged wheel, the logo of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, from a 400-pound block of ice. It's to be the centerpiece on the hors d'oeuvre table for the club's pre-race party May 27. Chef Jurgen Multhoff, also an ice-artist, will sculpt duplications of two race cars on the turn from two 300-pound blocks of ice. These will decorate the traditional prerace buffet table for members of the Columbia Club.

Ed Fordyce, chef at Hillcrest Country Club, intends to build a decorative race car that will literally disappear before the pre-race dinner party gets rolling. It won't melt away. It will be nibbled away. The table decoration will be carved from a 10-pound round of Cheddar cheese. Guests may need to arrive early before heavy munchers steal the hub caps.

Over at the Marriott Inn, the chefs are spinning their wheels in getting the "greatest spectacle in raisin" off the assembly line and into the ovens as a race-oriented gimmick to amuse guests. Chief baker Richard Means, praised for his raisin bread recipe, is setting the yeast for edible pace cars: A loaf of bread with four doughnuts added to simulate super wheels. Meanwhile, a bit of May madness prevails in the inn's bar area where a race-inspired refreshment has been concocted to rev up flagging motors. It's the "Fuel Injection Special" made from lemon, lime and orange juice poured over crushed ice, drained and added to light and dark rum and grenadine on the rocks. Pmnnsylvonia, Indianapollg 1 46304. A-- FLY FINE UNITED STATES FLAGS INDIANA TOO ALL SIZES Aging Swinger Keeps TVl ABBY where the doorman, night watchman and tenants can watch us? Should I ask my date to walk me to my apartment door and say good-night there? Should I invite him to step into my apartment to say good-night? When I first moved here. I let my date step into my apartment to thank him for the lovely evening and it ended up in a one-hour wrestling match. I had a terrible time getting rid of him. Please answer soon as I have no mother to MYSELF IN TULSA DEAR SAVINfi: A girl's date should always see her safely to her door.

Don't allow anyone to "step inside" if you have any doubts about how he will behave once he's inside. Even the most careful girls sometimes misjudge a man, so should you find yourself with the wrestling" type, don't say "goodnight" say "goodby'." DEAR ABBY: I am a 17-year-old girl who has a very unhappy home life. My folks have been fighting ever since I can remember. They treat me like dirt. By ABIGAIL VAN BL REN DEAR ABBY; My wife died 18 months ago, and this woman I'm interested in has been a widow for three years.

We knew each other "way back lhen." I'm 66 and this lady is 63 Before I renew our friendship, I'd like to ask you a few questions. Since her husband died, she's had several men staying with her (one at a time) in her one-bedroom trailer. I've also heard that she has visited an old farmer at his farmhouse (just the two of them) for "days at a time. Last week she headed for Colorado with another old buddy in his camper truck She said she planned to sleep in motels on the way, and he would sleep in the truck; she didn't say where they would sleep once they got to Colorado. Now, Abby, I don't want to marry a "woman who has a bad reputation.

She's "the talk of this little town, but she is really a very high-class lady and every body likes her. What is your "'advice? FRANK IN FLORIDA A 1 Mrs. Spoolstra Mrs. Ellett III rW-! Gregory S. Fletcher, Joan Roush Are Wed Busy and I want to tell you, it is miserable and rotten My boy friend.

Brad, is 18. and he comes from a home that's even rot-tener, if there is such a word. His folks not only fight all the time, but his father beats on his mother Anyway. Brad has been crazy about me ever since 7th grade and we are thinking of getting married when he graduates from high school in June. He plans to work days at a garage and go to trade school for mechanics at night He's real good with cars and motors.

Should I quit school and get a job when Brad graduates' I'd have only a year to go and could finish later. We wouldn't have much money, but we wouldn't need much, and at least we'd have each other. I need advice. Thank you TEARS ON MY PILLOW DEAR TEARS: Don't use marriage as an excuse to get out of the house no matter how "miserable" it is. I urge you to finish high school while you have the chance.

I IP A I Lira al DEAR FRANK: It seems almost a disservice to the community to take this aging swinger out of circulation if indeed you could. But if you regard this woman as a "high-class lady," any advice I could give you would fall on deaf ears.

Your vision isn't too good, either. DEAR ABBY: I have recently moved into a high-rise apartment, live alone and have a problem that I imagine other single girls who live alone must have.
