The dollars will fio to a project at the center where the auxiliary's program takes up where tax dollars leave off.

It's hard to explain in a closely studied budget about the need for a popcorn machine. But auxiliary members know how important a snack is to their own children. It's even more important for those in trouble to find someone who cares. Past auxiliary assistance has included large folding recreation tables, playground equipment and an X-ray machine to aid the dental health care at the center. The auxiliary is one of many organizations and individuals aiding the center's staff with the extras that bring a little color into the often drab background that may have created some of the children's problems.

One special program auxiliary members maintain is a birthday gift shelf in case a birthday occurs during the three or four days the average youngster spends at the center. In addition to the salad luncheon, guests will hear Mrs. Raleigh S. Miller review the "Queen's Confession" by Victoria Holt, a 1969 book about Marie Antoinette. The affair is open to the public with the hope that some of those attending might find it sufficiently rewarding to become active in the auxiliary and its program at the center.

Since winter's on the wane GRACE FOR THE TABLE It's spring and time for growing A time to pause and to reflect That gifts we take for granted Come from Thee for us to use. Amen. Salad Decor Mrs. John Munch's gelatin salad is similar to those that will make up party fare at the Auxiliary to the Juvenile Center's luncheon and book review Monday at the center, 2401 E. 25th.
