"It's very, very difficult to get people who understand this music and can relate to it," Thomas said. "We're going to open with the morning show and move into the rest of the day." The 6 am to 10 am show will be hosted by two Lincoln radio veterans, former KFMQ Program Director Tom Barker, KLDZ's assistant program director and music director, and former KLMS DJ J. Marshall Stewart, who left that station about two weeks ago to become production director and morning host at KLDZ. "I don't have any bad feelings about KLMS," Stewart said. "I just did not like what they were doing with the statioa I didn't like the emphasis on information.

I believe people who are listening to oldies want music and not a lot of talk." All four formerly worked for either KLMS or KFMQ.

The group acquired KJUS-FM from its former owner, Sequel Corp. of Denver, early this year and since has received Federal Communications Commission approval for the transfer and change in call letters. The station also has received FCC approval to increase its power from 3,000 watts to 50,000 watts and to increase its tower height to 500 feet There is a chance that the power might be increased to 100,000 watts and the tower height raised to 1,000 feet, Thomas said. When the power increase occurs in a few months, the KLDZ signal will drop down a notch on the FM dial to 95.1 FM, a move so slight Thomas said most listeners will not notice.
