Robert M. Hopkins, 77. former president of the United Christian Missionary Society here, was buried today at Paris, after services at the Kerr Funeral Home in Lexington, where he died Sunday. From 1939 to 1946, Dr. Hop-kins was president of the society Born at Trenton, he attended Culver Stockton College, Canton, and received his bachelor's degree at the University of Michigan, later receiving honorary degrees from several universities.

From 1920 to 1928 Dr. Hopkins was general secretary of religious education for the society, then was called, to head the World Sunday School Association In New York. He had been ordained to the Christian ministry In 1896, and served pastorates for a short while. From 1900 to 1910, he was state secretary of the Kentucky Christian Bible School Association, and for the next years was secretary of the Bible school department of the American Missionary Society. After his retirement In 1946, Dr.
