Beginning in 1925, she appeared in three editions of the Theater Guild's "Garrick Gaieties," a hit musical revue that spoofed Broadway. Film audiences saw her in "The Middle of the Night," "It Grows on Trees" and "Queen For A Day," a trilogy based on stories by Dorothy Parker, Faith Baldwin and John Ashworth. She performed with the Marx Brothers on radio and wrote scripts for Helen Hayes's first radio serial, "The New Penny," and for the "Sherlock Holmes" series beginning in the 1930s. N.Y. Times News Service Edith Meiser, a stage actress, writer and radio producer, died Sunday at Roosevelt Hospital. Sheiwas 95 and lived in New York City. The cause was a heart attack, said William Herz a friend. In a career that spanned half a century, Miss Meiser, a versatile performer with a satiric wit, appeared in more than 20 Broadway shows, including "Gafrick Gaieties," "Sabrina Fair" and the 1960 production of Unsinkable Molly Brown." She was born in Detroit and graduated from Vassar College.

She made her Broadway debut in "The New Way" in 1923 and went on to appear in "Fata Morgana." and "The Guardsman." Cash W. Tunstall Cash W. Tunstall, 91, of Whiting, passed away Saturday, September 25, 1993 at Munster Med-Inn. Survivors include his wife Ruby (Fleschner; two daughters, Emma Garwood of St. Paul, Minnesota and Linda (John) Biagi of Whiting, Indiana; two grandchildren, Paula Garwood of St.

Paul and Amanda Biagi of Whiting; two sisters, Agnes Portman of Whiting and Katherine Bargon of Munster; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins Tunstall was preceded in death by two sisters, Jane McCumber and Ann Carter and one brother, Richard. Washington, a pioneer among black women broadcast executives and a founding member of Operation PUSH, has died after a long bout with cancer. Mrs. Washington, who died Saturday, served as vice president and general manager of WybN-AM radio and was active raising money for the Chicago Urban League and the Chicago branch of the NAACP. She helped found Operation PUSH, a Chicago-based civil-rights group, and later served on its board of director.
