AGNES RESPECKE Agnes Respecke, age 85, passed away on Friday, January 22, 2010, with family by her side. She was born on December 11, 1924 in Gary, IN, the daughter of David and Elizabeth Taylor. Agnes worked with the Lake-shore Association for mental health and was involved with Hobart Little League. She was a devoted Christian woman who loved her family. Agnes is survived by her loving family: son, Bob Respecke; daughter, Michelle (Dennis) Klemm and three grandsons.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Ray Respecke; son, Gerald; daughter, Beth Ann; grandson, Joshua; brother, Alex Taylor; sister, Shirley Mae Farley and very special family friend, Lavonne Kinney. Funeral services for Agnes will be held on Monday, January 25, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at Rees Funeral Home, 600 West Old Ridge Rd. Hobart, IN. Burial will be held at Calumet Park Cemetery in Merrillville.

Paul and Irene moved to southern California in 1980. In 1979 Paul had colon cancer surgery, which he survived all these years with his Irish sense of humor. He was raised in Cedar Lake and lived in Hammond. His family owned Toomey's Resort in Cedar Lake and Paul and Irene owned Club Toomey's, in Hessville, for 20 years (Now know as Freddy's). Paul bought and sold steel back them.

He was a corporal in the Army Air Corp during WWII. He was also a member of the Notre Dame 100 Club. On this first anniversary of being in heaven you are our beautiful Mother as in life and now in eternal life we look to Jesus for our strength, hope and joy knowing you are with Father God and Jesus. Nola was born on November 13, 1920.

(William) Hurley of Crown Point, IN; her daughter-in-law, Margie O'Connor; 17 grandchildren, many great and great great grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews. Nola was an active member of Sacred Heart Church in Whiting, IN and was retired from Lever Brothers with 25 years of service.

She was so special and will be missed greatly.
