The published accounts of the fire at Aberdeen last week convey the in- formation that much of the property destroyed could have been saved if the water works had been in proper condition. A short time since the mayor of Aberdeen here and ex- amined the artesian well, oar system of water works and how particularly they are cared for. When told that Huron paid her water commissioner $75 per month to see that the hy- drants are kept in order and ready for use at any moment, was sur- prised, and remarked that Aberdeen pay so much. When the Dakota house fire occurred there was no the water was turned on in an instant, and what might have been a serious conflagra- gration was averted because the hy- drants and everything belonging to the fire department was in perfect working order. It is due to Mr.

Mc- Intosh to say that he is careful t.o know that each day the water system of the city is in a condition for im mediate use, and our citizens may be assured that he will use his best en- deavor to keep it so during the win- ter. 'With reasonable caution on the part of our people in the disposition of ashes, the throwing of lighted ci- gars or matches, and a consciousness that the flues and chimneys of resi- dences and public houses are safe, there will be comparative safety from damage by fire in Huron this winter. Huron hsis never been the victim of a great fire, and it is sincerely hoy- ed she never will be. A YELLOW wedding is One of the latest freaks. The brideinaids are in yellow, the decorations yellow, tne laces yellow, the flowers yellow; ev- erything, in short, but the bride, who is of coursei all white, wears that jaundiced hue.

Thei effect is some- what trying and more suggestive of a rousing bilious' attack than the gentle, fashionable marriage cere- mony seeks to be. However, any- thing for a change. In Brief And To The Point. Dyspepsia is dreadful. Disordered liver is misery.

Indigestion is a to good nature. The human dijestive apparatus is one of the most complicated and won- derful things in existance. It is easily put out of order. But Green's August Flower has done a wonderful work in reforming this sad business and making the American people so healthy that they can enjoy their meals and be happy.
