10, 1888: Certainly the boom ia growing in Huron. When the result of the elec- tion became known--even before it was a certainty--parties foreseeing the future of Huron, began making heavy investments. There has scarce- ly been a day since that Dakotans or eastern capitalists hare not been here bunting and begging for an oppor- tnrity to invwst in Huron property. Everyone in Huron who has a cent to spare is putting it in for an invest- ment, while those having means are buying acre property about the city when they can find it to buy. Tho most important sales since the Tripp, Frick Beebe purchase took place Monday afternoon.

Mr. J. Aea Moody, proprietor of the Depot hotel at Hawarden, purchased of C. D. Houghton acres in the northwest corner of the northeast quarter of section 7-110 61, paying Mr.

Houghton $5863.50 cash for same. The land sold lies one mile from the postoffice corner, in the very best residence portion of tbe city. It is a good purchase, and the new proprietor has made a splen- did deal. OTHER SALES. Frank R.

Cougbran has sold to his brother Eugene W. Coughrao, of Sioux Falls, a one quarter interest in his 160 acre tract in the southwest part of the city, one aud a hah miles from the post rffice, for $1,500 at tbe rate of an acre. Governor Church yesterday bought 40 out of V. Davis tract in thw Southwest part of thd city. His cnblideLice in Huron soeuis un- bounded.

We desire to extend our heartfelt appreciation and gratitude, as far as we are able to do it in this way, to all those who so kindly assisted us by so many acts of kindness and words of sympathy in onr sad bereavement.

Words are inadequate and we must leave the heart to speak while the lips are silent. We cannot help but feel that all it were possible for us to say or do would fall very far short of be- ing a fitting return for the services rendered us, or for the loving synapa thy which has welled up to us on every hand. We can say no more ex- cept that our hearts go out to all friends and neighbors filled vvith feel- ings which gold and silver could not buy. H. J.
