TIME -LINE What's The Movie? Ofas Good Excellent Jim Henson, creator of the Muppets has another special with ABC in the works. It'll be entitled 'Sex and Violence with the Muppets' and will also serve as a pilot for a possible Muppets series. Henson has strong feelings that the Muppets' appeal could sustain a weekly series, providing entertainment for adults as well as children. Regarding the new special, Henson says, "Sex and Violence" is really a spoof on those attitudes engulfing us these days. Our violence is 'puppet symbolic-and in no way would be anything other than for family viewing.

We've been able to put together in the script all the elements of the Muppets we've wanted to for many years. A lot of our work has always been adult-oriented, so we'll be working a lot with those aspects of the Muppets. Through this pilot, we hope to be able to demonstrate that puppetry can be very solid adult entertainment." The special which airs over CBS will be called, 'Mitzi and a Hundred The 'Sound of Music' ranks as the next major motion picture to debut on television. The 1965 box office hit starring Julie Andrews is now being offered by 20th Century Fox to the three networks. Although the bidding will probably reach astronomical figures, the cost of 'The Sound of Music' will not exceed the $10 million NBC paid for the 'Godfather' since 'Sound' has been re-released several times. The first guest star of the new Smothers Brothers show will be Rona Barrett. The retired Hollywood gossipist is turning entertainer with this appearance and the recent release of her first album, 'Miss Rona Sings Hollywood's Greatest The LP contains ten popular movie standards, nine of which received Oscar nominations.

Rona introduces each cut with a brief narration about the film, then offers her rendition of the song. Her rather thin voice is supported by a full orchestra. Rona's album is produced by her husband and their own company, Miss Rona Enterprises, and it's being sold via TV mail order advertising. PERSONALITY Casey may return to TV as a movie-pilot with VINCE EDWARDS, of course, in the starring rolc.WARREN BEATTY is reportedly planning to run for the California legislature. Beatty and his sister, SHIRLEY MAC LAINE have long been active Democrats-MCM is readying a pilot of the 'Thin Man' based on the popular 1934 movie starring WILLIAM POWELL and MYRNA LOY.
