'1 Greek Letter At a special Initiation held Thursday evening In parlor of the Student Union, the Omlcron chapter of Pi Lambda Theta Initiated a group of twelve women outstanding In the field of education. The sorority, an honorary and professional association for women in education, has announced the following new members: Helen Becker, Lincoln; Irma E. Bryan, Orange, Lydla Endorf Butler, Campbell; Helen Carolyn t'onley, Coad; Alberta Jean Frerichs, Grand Island; Charlotte Gruber, Seward; Helen Klippenstein, Friend; F.lva Belle Clement Hayden, Ord; Mary Serburne McAlister, Lincoln; Emma Elizabeth Renken, Geneva; Helen Veronica Shields, Kearney; and Helen Storms, Western.

Following the initiation a banquet was held at which time Mrs, Arthur Smith of Lincoln was guest speaker. Mrs. Smith spoke on the topic, "Achievements of the United ALTHOUGH THIS IS not what anyone would call a gay nor an exciting week-end, it could be worse as far as the news is concerned For one thing, there was a luncheon today at the Lincoln Country club, with Mrs. L. Day the hostess.

Mrs. Day invited twelve guests for the party which also included an afternoon of bridge at the club. Radke, Lincoln attorney, said Saturday he will campaign for democratic state chairmanship "as vigorously as possible under a handicap." The handicap, he explained, is present Chairman William Ritchie's refusal to give him a list of delegates to the state convention at Grand Island Aug. 3. Ritchie has announced that he will not seek the post again. Ritchie did, however, send him a list of county chairmen, the Lincoln man acknowledged, although he pointed out that it would do him "very little good" in contacting delegates.

Radke said he will attend the convention and "meet the delegates as they come," in an effort to acquaint them with his political experience.
