B-6 THE HAMMOND TIMES Wednesday, April 11, 1962 Esch To Head State's GOP Platform Unit INDIANAPOLIS (AP)-President I. Lynd Esch of Indiana Central College will serve as chairman of the 1962 Indiana Republican Platform Advisory Committee. Thomas A. Gallmeyer, Repub-: lican state chairman, announced the appointment Tuesday. He said also the chairmen of the platform advisory subcommittees being set up in each of the 11 congressional districts will hold a preliminary meeting here Thursday noon.

The regular Republican organization in each district is selecting these subcommittee chairmen. After they meet with Esch and Gallmeyer Thursday the chairmen will set public hearings in each district for expressions of views on what should be in the state platform. THE PLATFORM Advisory Committee also will ask the views of Sen. Homer E. Capehart, the seven Indiana Republicans in the House of Representatives and elected Republican state officials.

The chief spokesman for the elected state officials in submitting platform recommendations will be Lt. Gov. Richard O. Ristine. The Platform Advisory Committee writes the state platform, which customarily is adopted by the state convention as it is submitted.
