Adam McMullen will entertain the contract bridge club for luncheon on Tuesday. The Iowa Nebraska company entertained their employees at a dinner Thursday night at the Country club. Mrs. Edward McClure entertained six guests luncheon and bridge on Wednesday. Danny Kees entertained five couples for a chili supper Friday evening.

W. B. Walter returned the first of the week from a months trip to New Orleans, Philadelphia, Boston and Chicago. Miss Rosanna Kilpatrick spent last weekend in Barneston, the guest of Mr. and Mrs.

A. D. Spencer and Miss Jean Warfield. Mrs. Austin Sturtevant and son of Chicago arrived Tuesday for visit with Mrs.

Sturtevant's mother, Mrs. Flora Bradely. Wahoo Mrs. Lloyd Anderson was hostess to the Eastern Star kensington on Wednesday afternoon, assisted by Mrs. Harry Ludi, Mrs.

Clyde Worral, Mrs. Howard Hunter and Miss Dorothy Hultin. The employees of the local telephone office were entertained by Dorland, Mrs. George Cruickshank, Mrs. James Gilchrist Earl Barger at a weiner roast at Wanahoo park Tuesday evening.

The Methodist girls kensington met on Monday evening at the home of Miss Mable Collier. Assisting hostesses were Miss Dora Larson and Mrs. Lloyd Torrens. Mrs. Robert McCreery was hostess to chapter P.

E. O. on Tuesday evening. Mrs. Levin and Mrs.

Ella Collins had charge of the program. Westminster "guild met on" Thursday evening at the home of Mrs. George Kneeling. Assisting her were Mrs. Paul Furmeister, Mrs.

Josephine Ritzman and Miss Caroline Cook. Mr. and Mrs. W. F.

Hancock and Mrs. W. R. Walker all of Waukeeney, arrived on Monday to visit in Wahoo. The Hancocks will be guests of Mr.

and Mrs. Glen Hancock and Mrs. Walker of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Weber and Miss Vera Walker.

The marriage of Miss Bernadine Bruce, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. D. A. Anderson and Jack Schwenke, son of Mr.

and Mrs. A. F. Schwenke of Lincoln took place on Sunday afternoon at the St. Wenceslaus parsonage, Rev.

Nemec officiating. Miss Lucille Bruce sister of the bride and Emmet Schwenke, brother of the groom attended them. O. B. Tegelberg of Worcester, is spending a short time in Wahoo.

He will return to Worcester to spend the winter with his daughter, Mrs. Evald Swenson and Mr. Swenson. The Luther college faculty club held its first meeting of the season Saturday evening at the home of Prof. and C.

O. Samuelson. Miss Edna Neitzel and Prof. Carl Nelson were assisting. Dinner was served, followed by a business meeting when officers for the year were chosen.

They were: Prof. Samuelson; vice president, Miss Paterson; secretary, Prof. V. E. Johnson.

Miss Elvira Anderson has returned to Omaha after having spent over two weeks with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Anderson and accompanying them on a trip through the southern states. Walter F. Roberts, E.

S. Schiefelbein, Fred Norenburg, Jerry Jasa left on for Miami, where they will attend the national Legion convention. Dr. Mrs. M.

E. Lathrop left on Saturday Boston where the doctor will receive his fellowship in the American College of Surgeons. Mr. and Mrs. Rolland Anderson and daughter, Jeanne, and Mrs.

John Cameron have left for West Palm Beach, to spend about two weeks with the parents of Mrs. Anderson and Mrs. Cameron. Mrs. W.

R. Watt who has been a guest of Mrs. Ida Holmes for ten days, has returned to her home in Hastings. The district meeting of the Pythian sisters society was held in Omaha and in large number of members from Wahoo attended. Mrs.

Ray Gilette and Roy Epperson attended as delegates. Eighty members of and Pestal families held a reunion at the city park on Sunday honoring Mrs. S. J. Peterson of Alliance who is visiting in the city.

Mrs. C. E. Larson was hostess of the W. C.

T. U. at her home on Friday afternoon. Mrs. J.

M. Ohslund has left for Lincoln to remain for the winter with her daughter Miss Mildred Ohslund who teaches in the Lincoln schools. Week end guests of Mr. and Mrs. R.

J. Tennant were their daughters, Helen and Marjorie of Carson, Ia. Mrs. Agnes Flood and Miss Eleanor Jones also of Carson. club at dinner Monday evening at David City Mrs.

Mrs. L. J. Byers in company with her sister, Mrs. Ralph Stewart of Colby, visited their sister in Des Moines, a few days last week.

Miss Marie Peters, a bride of this week, was honored with a miscellaneous shower given at the home of her parents Thursday afternoon. The American Legion auxiliary elected officers for the ensuing year follows: President, Eleanor Hoffman; first vice president, Matie Tobiska; second vice president, Rose Aksamit; secretary, Minnie Newburn; treasurer, Lenore Conant; chaplain, Anna Zednik; historian, Marie Hoffman; sergeant at arms, Dorothea Theasmeyer; assistant sergeant at arms, Josephine Dolezal; executive committee, Gladys Schupbach, Irma Luse and Charlotte Shimonek. Miss Tillie Burda of Western and Milo Karpisek of Wilber were married at the Saline county court house Tuesday morning, October 16. The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Burda and is a graduate of the Wilber high school.

She has taught in the rural schools of Saline county for three years. The groom is 4. son of Mr. and Mrs. John B.

Karisek and is a graduate of the Swanton high school. The couple will take a trip to world's fair after which they will be at home on a farm west of Wilber. The M. G. R.

club was entertained at the home of Mrs. James Bors Thursday evening. High scores were held by Mrs. Wm. nek.

George Crilly of Campbell, visited over last Sunday at the H. M. Crilly home in Wilber. Mrs. Adolph Pivonka and son Arnold returned to their home here last Monday after a ten days' visit at Chicago.

Mr. and Mrs. John Vesely left last Friday for Chicago to see the world's fair. Mr. and Mrs.

Wm. Hein and family of Alliance were in Wilber last Saturday and Sunday visiting at the home of Mr. Hein's parents, Dr. and Mrs. Henry Hein.

Mrs. Anna Jirka left for her home at Chicago Saturday after three weeks' visit at the home a of her sister-in-law, Mrs. F. J. Sadilek.

Mrs. J. J. Grimm returned home last Friday after a three weeks' visit with relatives at Chicago, Rock Island and Moline, Ill. An inter-city Rotary meeting was held in Wilber evening, 200 from Crete, Beatrice, Fairbury and Lincoln being present.

The principal of the evening was Robspeaker ert Hastings of Crete. District Governor George Nash of distinguished Yankton, S. was a guest of the evening. Silas Collicott of Palmyra, was in Wilber Tuesday visiting old friends. Mr.

Collicott on a south of Wilber for many years and has many acquaintances here. He has disposed of his inat Palmyra and plans to terests, his home at De Witt. York Wilber Mrs. C. H.

Donald Miller of Nebraska City, who spent the weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harry Powers, has returned home. Mrs. Frank Curran and son, James, have returned from a visit with relatives in Denver, Colo.

Mr. and Mrs. W. C. Alcorn of Iona, spent a dey visiting their daughter, Miss Eileen Alcorn, who is attending college here.

After a wedding trip the young couple will live on a farm near Stromsburg. Mrs. Charlotte Henney was hostess to the members of the Music Study club, who met at her home Monday evening. Mrs. C.

B. Letton of Lincoln, a former Fairbury resident, entertained at luncheon at the Mary Etta hotel on Tuesday. Honoring Mrs. Leo Smith, a recent bride, Mrs. Jacob Hellman entertained at her home Wednesday evening, giving a miscellaneous shower.

The Corona chapter of the Delphian society met Monday at the home of the president Mrs. Charles Wyatt, with eight members present. The American citizenship department of the Fairbury Woman's club held their first meeting of the year Tuesday. The Rock Creek Friendship club met Thursday afternoon, at the home of Mrs. Will Wagner.

Observing her birthday anniversary, Miss Mildred Feith tained sixteen friends at dinner at her home Friday evening. Mr. and Mrs. Garland Hughes departed this week for their home in New York City, having enjoyed a two weeks visit in Fairbury. Mr.

and Mrs. U. E. Gillen of Toronto, Canada, arrived Wednesday to visit Mrs. Gillen's mother, Mrs.

Elizabeth Green. Mrs. Avis Howard Stengel and daughter of Letitz, are visiting her father, A. H. Howard, who lives near Fairbury.

Mrs. Ida Schmidt has returned from a ten days visit with relatives at Beatrice and Fairbury. Honoring Mr. and Mrs. Frank Kotmel and daughter of Pittsburgh, Mr.

and Mrs. Henry Kempkes of Friend entertained at dinner, Sunday, thirty guests from Crete. In celebration of the birthday anniversary of Mrs. Frank Dedic, a family reunion was held Sunday with these present: Mr. and Mrs.

Harold Person, Omaha; Mr. and Mrs. F. Keller and family, Milford; Mr. and Mrs.

Adolph Novak and family, Pleasant Dale, and Miss Peterson, Milford. That afternoon a group of thirty friends held a surprise party and covered supper for her at the Dedic home. Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Klason of Wilber were among the guests.

Mrs. Victor Mathews and Bryant Wishert of Kansas City, Mo. spent the weekend here visiting in the homes of Myrtle Hudson and Mr. and Mrs. James Hudson.
