Ceafralian Released Centralian, Norman R. Leach, was arrested by Centrafia Saturday and was cwged with drunken driving, police said. Leachjras released on his personal recognizance, with bail set at 1125 was listed at $115. Man In Custody Michael D. Crews, 25, Rochester, remained in the custody of Centralia police Monday morning, police said.

Crews was arrested Sunday and was charged wih being drunk in public and destruction of private property. BaU was listed at IDS. Hit and Ron Reported A car belonging to Gary Cease, 1522 Ham HU1 Centralia, was reported struck Monday night while it was parked at the Nor'Wester Restaurant. Cease told police the car was apparently struck sometime between 6:15 and 7:10 pjn. Damage to the car has been estimated at ITS, police said.

Firemen Respond --Centralia firemen look about five minutes Tuesday morning to douse a small fire in a flower bed at the Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant, 619 West Main St. The fire was reported at 7:08 a.m. by a woman across the street from the restaurant who saw smoke rising from bark mulch in the flower bed, firemen said. Cause of the fire is undetermined and there was no damage. TbefJ Reported Jim Skaggs, 1027 Stale Centralia, reported to police Tuesday the theft of a tape case and tapes from his car while it was parked in the 1600 block of Harrison Avenue.

West High Chehalis, has been named to the President's List and the all- university honor roll for the spring semester at Washington State University.

McReynolds, a Junior, Is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Jack W. Lutz, Chehalis. He Is majoring in zoology.

McReynolds' name was inadvertently ommited from the original list of honor students submitted by WSU to The Daily Chronicle. Dowd Wins Honor Lee W. Dowd head of the Chehalis branch, U.S. Soil and Water Conservation Service, has been praised by the president of the Soil Conservation Society of America, Johnston of Bushland, Tex. Johnston cited Dowd for his service in working with the members of the Society's Olympic View chapter, which cosponsored the 27th annual meeting of the society, and for his many other contributions to the organization.

Centraliaa Sentenced An 18-year-old Centralia youth, Jeffrey Zigler, was given a three-year deferred sentence Monday in Lewis County Superior Court after pleading guilty to a charges of second-degree burglary and petit larceny. In sentencing the youth, Judge uorvnn J. Cunningham stipulated that he serve 90 days in jail, pay court costs and attorney fees and participate in a Job Corps program under the supervision of the court probation- parole officer Obituaries S011 erm Jerry Roberts 8, Seattle, was sentenced to a maximum term of 15 years in a state prison Monday from the Park Motel in Centralia Superior court judge Dorwin J. 187-ltnc. Chehalis girl top winner Grand winner of the Southwest Washington Fair "Little Miss Friendly" Coloring Contest is Susan Wood, a 12- year-old from Chehalis. Winners of the contest were announced by Paul McBride, promotional affairs 'chairman for the fair. The original drawing, which was later colored by the young participants, was made by Walley Hughes, a Centralia artist. Hughes' sketch depicted the fair's theme of' 'Fantasy- and Fun." Ail entries were judged by a group of area artists belonging to the Lewis County Art League on color use, originality and neatness, McBride said.

Other winners in the contest were: 1012 age group, Judie Littleton, 11, Onalaska, first; Shelley Voie, 11, Centralia, second. First place in the 9 age group was awarded to Debby Meek, 6, Centralia. Second place went to Todd Mason, 6, Chehalis. In the 3 5 age class, Christine Brown, 4, Chehalis, won first place, and Nickey Sumpter, 4, Chehalis, took second. Grand prue in the contest was a $50 savings bond, while all first place winners received a J25 savings bond and second place got $5.

Ten of the youths who entered the contest received an honorable mention for their efforts, with free fair grandstand tickets. They were: Cathy Sabin, 8, Chehalis; Brenna Johnson 5, Centralia; Jennifer Back, 5, Onalaska; Kristine Mason, 7, Chehalis; Deby Rae Johnson, 8, Chehalis; Darren Scthe, 11, Chehalis- Carrie Vengley, 12, Centralia; Lynn Jennings, 10, Centralia; J. Free fair bus service begins Twin City Transit Co. began at the first day of a free Southwest Washington Fair service at 10 a jn. Tuesday, according to Roy Thomas, owner. Although Thomas' regular bus service has been forced to shut down due to a lack of financial support, the special service this week is being provided free of charge by the Yard Birds Shopping Center, to transport fair patrons. The bus wffl operate from 10 a jn.

to 11 pjn. Tuesday through Saturday and on Sunday will be available from noon to 6 pjn. The bus will leave the Centralia bus depot on the hour beginning at 10 am. and will leave the Chehalis bus depot on the half hour beginning at 10:30 a jn. The route taken from Centralia will be: north to First Street, west on First Street to Washington Avenue, south on Washington to Main Street, east on Main to Pearl Street, south on Pearl to Summa Street, east on Sumraa to Gold Street, south on Gold to the fairgrounds.

In Chehalis, the bus route will be: Chehalis Avenue to Main Street, left on Main to Cascade Avenue, sooth on Cascade to 13th Street, 13th Street to Market and Market Street to the bus depot. On the return trip the bus will turn off the northbound couplet to Prairie Market, to the fairgrounds and return to the northbound couplet on Exhibitor Road. HAUGHIAN Frank D. Haughlan. 91. a resident of Chehahs since May, 1968, died Saturday at a Chehalis nursing home. He was born March 16, 1881.

in Rice Uvtd in Ryderwood from to 1966 and moved from there to Leavenworth where he lived until June, 1967. He then moved to Seattle where he lived until May 1968 when he moved to Chehalis. Mr. Haughian was the oldest firefighter belonging to the Retired Firefighters of Seattle. He was a member of the Catholic Church.

Survivors are two daughters, Sister Celestine, Everett, and Sister Perpetua, Chehalis. both of the Dominican Order of Edmonds; two sons, Gerald, Seattle, and Richard, Vancouver; two sisters, Mrs Agnes Killeen, Seattle, and Mrs. Maudie Claypool. Hendrickson, 78, a resident of Winlock most of her life, died in a Centralia nursing home Sunday. She was born Sept. 11,1893, in Toledo She was a member of the Winlock Baptist Church. She had been a resident of Centralia since 1956 when she and her husband moved from Montana. Mrs. Snyder is survived by her husband, at the home in Centralia- one daughter, Mrs. Ron (VaLore) Hanson, Portland; one son, Sgt. Louis Snyder, stationed at San Antonio, eight grandchildren; her mother, Mrs.

Grace Larvie, Pine Ridge, S.D.; two brothers, Donald Larabee, Scapoose, Ore. and Douglas Larabee, Los Angeles; one sister, Mrs. Vincent (Alvina) Brewer, Pine Ridge, S.D., and numerous nieces and nephews. Services'will be Wednesday at 2:30 pjn. at Newell-Hperling's, Centralia, with the Rev.

Robbin Luthe officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. View Cemetery, Centralia. GUSTAVA.SCHNARR Gustav A. Schnarr, 82, died Sunday in an Olympia nursing home following a brief illness.

He was bom March 28, 1890, in Centralia. He had been a resident of Centralia for the past five years and had been a former longtime resident of both Tumwa ter and Chehalis. He was a logger with Weyerhaeuser Company prior to his retirement in 1955. He was a member of the JoUy Time Dance Club. He is survived by three daughters Mrs.

Michael) (Judith) Penley, Chicago- Mrs. Elmer (Rose) Korpi, Seattle- and Mrs. Richard (Wanda) Strom, Portland- two stepdaughters, Mrs. George (Edith) Bennett, Tacoma, and Mrs. W.W.

(Irene) Ruhl, Tacoma; two brothers, August Schnarr, Quadra Island, B.C.; and John Schnarr, Victoria, B.C.; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. Minnie Wright Everett. Mrs. Hosley relumed to Centralia in December, 1971 following the death of her husband. Mrs. Hosley is survived by two sons, David F.

Myrtle Belle Blurton, 87, died Saturday at an Olympia nursing home following a lingering illness. She was born Aug. 10,1884, in Texas. Sie had been a resident of Tacoma for 45 years and was a longtime licensed practical nurse prior to her retirement. She is survived by one son, John Blurton, Lacey, three daughters, Mrs.

Donald (Thelma) Cowan, Olympia; Mrs. Lyle (Myrtle) Jennings, Olympia, and Mrs Phyllis Durga, Tacoma; one sister, Mrs Dotlie Brinlee, Us Banos. 27 grandchildren and 30 great-grandchildren. Services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Sticklin Funeral Home, Centralia.

William Rial Klusman, 25, Seattle died Saturday in Ethel. He was born in Seattle, May 27, 1947, and lived in Washington State except for a six-year period with the U.S. Air Force as a security policeman. He was a member of the Advent Christian Church, Seattle, and spent three years in Vietnam. Survivors include his parents, Mr and Mrs.

Charles C. Klusman, Seattle; two sisters, Mrs. Doris Lindberg, Green Bay Wis. and Mrs. Alice Earles, Seattle- three brothers, Duane of Phoenix, Ariz', Richard and Karl, both Seattle; and a grandmother, Mrs.

HELGESO.V Donald T. Helgeson, 51, Sultan, died Friday in an Everett hospital. He had been" a resident of the Napavine area for 25 years before moving to Sul tan. He was born Dec. 1,1920, in Montevideo, and moved to Napavine in 1930.

Mr. Helgeson was graduated from Napavine High School in 1938. He was a World War II veteran. Survivors are the widow, Lena, two daughers, Karen and Beverly, at home- three brothers, Robert, Snohomish, Erl vin, Centralia, and Clayton, Petersburg, Alaska; one sister, Mrs. Ed (Clara) Roberts, Chehalis; his mother, Mrs.

Angle Z. Thompson, 88, a resident of Centralia for the past 13 years, and formerly of Hoquiam for 50 years, died Monday in a Centralia nursing home Survivors are two nieces, Mrs. George White and Mrs. Harvey Earner, both of Centralia. Graveside services will be Wednesday at 11:30 a.m.
