Criticism 'hurting' WCAE-TV auction, says station exec ST. JOHN Channel 50 Station Manager Lou Iaconetti says criticism by Lake Central School Board Member Michael Klausman has hurt this week's auction.

Promised, merchandise has been withdrawn. He says Klausman's public plea for eliminating the station from Lake Central's control and financing has done the damage. The annual auction is the financially-troubled public broadcasting station's biggest fund-raiser to of fset costs. Klausman's comments have been "detrimental in every respect" to the station, Iaconetti said, and to the school system in light of the $2-million property tax hike request. though, said Iaconetti's comments are "sour grapes." He said his opposition to the station is based on current economic problems, but added he could not obtain details of Channel 50's budget.

Goldblatt to be sold By CYNTHIA RICHARDS Times Business-Labor Editor HAMMOND It now appears the downtown Goldblatt properties will go on the auction block May 20. Developer Richard Osty plans to bid on the buildings during the auction "if we don't have it before then," a spokesman said. Osty, president of Team Capital canceled plans to appear Monday before an economic development commission public hearing on his requested $5 million in industrial revenue bonds to purchase and renovate the three buildings into a downtown mall. Osty said he did not appear before the EDC he did not have his financing complete, a prerequisite to the public hearing process. Osty's plan has been in the works for nearly four months.

RUDOLPH SIMS SR. Happy Birthday Rudy. I cannot send a birthday card, your hand I cannot touch, to say there will be tears and grief, for the one I loved so much. Looking back with memories upon the past we trod, I bless the hours I spent with you, and leave the rest to God. The Gate to your grave is open wide, no one can hold me from going inside, but all I can do dear, is go on and tend your grave, and leave behind tokens of Jove, to the dearest and best God ever made.

I cannot send a birthday card, your hand I cannot touch, today there will be no gifts or cake, no beribboned boxes, no card to give today. Just a bouquet of flowers placed on your grave, for the one I love so much. Your wife, Eliza In Loving Memory of GEORGE BRODERICK JR. God took him home, it was his will, but in our hearts, we love him still. His memory is as dear today as in the hour he passed away.

The tears from our eyes will forever flow, because we miss him so. Gone, but not forgotten. THE FERGUSON FAMILY IN LOVING MEMORY OF DANIEL MODJESKI On His Fifth Anniversary In Heaven Our Father knows what's best for us. So why should we complain? We always want the sunshine, -But He knows there must be rain. Our Father tests us often With suffering and with sorrow, He tests us not to punish us, But to help us meet tomorrow.

God never hurts us needlessly. And He never wastes oar pain, For every loss He sends to us, Is followed by rich gain. So whenever we are troubled, And when everything goes wrong, It is God working in us, To make our spirit strong. We Love You! We Miss You! Your Loving Family IN LOVING MEMORY of Ulysses (Jack) Murray, on his 1st Birthday in Heaven, May 4th. Dear God, please take this message to my loved one above.

Tell him, how much I miss him and give him my love. He bid no one a last farewell and said Goodbye to none. The heavenly gate just opened wide and a loving voice said come. Although his soul is now at rest and free from all pain, the world would be like Heaven, if I had him back again. It broke my heart to lose him, but he did not go alone, for part of me went with him the day God called him home.

A precious one for me is gone, a voice I loved is still, a place is vacant in my heart, which never can be filled. God gave me the straight to face it and the courage to meet the blow, but what it meant to lose him, no one will ever know. Love always, Virginia. 5 -'tV GARY LEE GALLAGHER In loving memory of our beloved son and brother. GARRY LEE GALLAGHER, who passed away 20 years ago today, May 4, 1962.

Our thoughts are always with you- Your place no one can fill, In life we loved you dearly In death we love you still. We know you walk beside us- And when our life is through, We pray that God will take our hands And lead us straight to you. School Board President Harold Lawrence said the station's managing board is comprised of himself, Iaconetti, Superintendent Donald Guilford (who will be replaced by Thomas Roman), Board Attorney Richard Mayer and Board Vice President Paul Freeland. When financial cuts were made a year ago, Lawrence said they discussed selling Channel so.

However, due to federal and state financing grants, he said it would be very difficult to receive full value of the station's worth from a sale. Two offers are on the drawing board, but Lawrence declined to detail them.
