Wril0 to catg thett newt pa pert, Cr. Adv. 'f II as- Harriet Lundgren, noted 8 we ballet for the performance- of Ca verslty coliseum on Tuesday, Ma cago with a cast of International! Bizet's great opera is looked forward to as one of the year's outstanding musical events. This will be Miss Glade's 75th appearance in the role of Carmen. More than a hundred artists and technicians have been assembled for this year's spring tour of the Civic opera productions.

Acting as artistic director and conductor ot the orchestra will be Isaac van Grove who will be remembered in Lincoln with former Chicago Civic opera productions and aa musical director of Max Relnhardt productions. The Civic opera's world famous ballet unit will be under the direction of the Swedish danseuse. Harriet Lundrren. The sets and properties of the Chicago opera have often been said to far surpass those of the Metropolitan. Sydney Rayner, formerly leading tenor of the Opera-Comique of Paris will support Miss Glade as will Angelo Pillotto from La Scalla Milan opera, Joseph Jtoyer, Helen Freud, brilliant lyric colora tura, who won first fame as a protege of Mary Garden's and has been acclaimed in concert and opera thruout the country, Leola Turner, lovely soprano of tha Chicago Civic opera.

The lovely arias and choruses from "Carmen" are more familiar to the ear of the average music lover than those from most of the operas. This fact ia substantiated by the numbers of times they are chosen by radio artists over the national chains. The advance seat sale for "Carmen" Indicates that Lincoln and its trade area are more than interested in this spring's appearance of opera. Tickets will go on open sale March 16, at Walt's Music house. 46th Annual Exhibition AMERICAN PAINTINGS of TODAY Gallery Talk Sunday, March 15, M.
