Rotarians to Hear J. Slaten Jenner of the Midwest Research Institute in Kansas City will address the Jefferson City Rotary Club at its noon luncheon meeting Monday at the Missouri Hotel. His topic will be "Significant Trends in Area Development," with particular reference to the economy of Missouri. Jenner is manager of the economics division of the Midwest Research Institute. specialty fields include transportation economics, cost analysis, area and industrial development and civil and industry defense planning.

He is a. graduate of Washington University and received his Master's degree in economic geography and economics of transportation from Harvard University in 1942. Louis Forck, chairman of the Taos Planned Progress Council, received the award money a said it would be used toward this year's pfoj ects: Improvements to the Community park, additional street lights, road improvements, and a general clean-up and paint- up campaign. Silver Eiken, council secretary, said projects which led to the cown's progress last year include the development of the community park, and a ball diamond, activities of the Wolf Club, improvement of the telephone system and the acquisition of a. lake site near Taos to be turned into a town recreational area.

The award was presented by Homer Ferguson, district manager of MPL, and Robert Renard, the firm's fied representative. Ferguson urged the group to project its planning and thinking four or five years into the future, thereby making it possible to accomplish improvements that at first might not seem possible. It was the second award in three years presented to Taos, During the council meeting at St. Francis School, Charles Zeilman, chairman of the Wolf Club, talked on the histor yof Taos and the possibility of erecting a shrine in honor of the town founder, Father Helias.
