But when he sells out and starts to JACK BENNY AND 15 STARS IN 'TRANSATLANTIC MERRY-GO-ROUND' AT INDIANA AND HOOSIER SATURDAY AND SUNDAY Damon Runyon's 'Lemon Drop Kid' at the Orpheum Friday Damon Runyon has written a new story, "The Lemon Drop Kid," which, in picture form, comes on ROUNDUP also sings a Hawaiian number to the accompaniment of Sol Hoopii's famous native orchestra. Also comedy, "What This Country Needs," and other snorts. VETERINARIANS ELECT OFFICERS play, he finds life complicated.

First, he raises pigeons, until they escape into the house. Then he tries golf, with screamingly funny results. At the Forsythe Theater A picture heralded as a thrilling revelation in musical spectacles comes to the Forsythe theater today with the First National production of "Flirtation Walk." There is an all-star cast headed by the inimitable songster, Dick Powell, charming Ruby Kefcler playing the romantic lead opposite him, and Pat O'Brien in the role of a hard-boiled army sergeant. There are two great specialty numbers that are said to outdo anything ever presented before for originality and novelty. One is an authentic Hawaiian Love Feast with its traditional unique native dances performed by 60 Hawaiian beauties and as many men.

Age-old folk songs are sung to the rhythmic beat of gourd drums in a setting of a moon-lit cocoanut grove and a rippling lagoon. Miss Fay Webb has announced she will leave Saturday for New York, where trial of her suit to vacate a separation agreement with Rudy Vallee, is docketed for February 4. In "The Lemon Drop Kid" his central character, played by Lee Tracy, is a race-traok enthusiast, who gets in trouble when he induces a millionaire to bet on the wrong horse. In his efforts to make a get-a-way, the "Kid" hides out in a small town where there are no horses to distract his mind.

ITALY SENDS WARSHIPS ATHENS, Jan. 24. (LN.S.)-r Italian warships yesterday were re ported to be on their way to the island of Calymnos in the Dode canese group where, according to information reaching here, a gen eral uprising against Italian police has started, and martial law is in effect. The 9.000 inhabitants of the island are mostly Greek fishermen. Recently Turkish troops were con centrated in the west of Asia Minor due to reports that Italian forces on the Dodecanese islands, which were formerly Turkish, were being strengthened.

Radio and Screen Favorite All your favorite radio entertainers contribute their specialties to Benny's program. That was one of the demands made on the technical staff of Universal City when "Million Dollar Ransom," now playing at the Vic theater was being prepared for production. The plot of this famous Damon Runyon story which Universal has transferred to the screen with Phillips Holmes. Edward Arnold and Mary Carlisle in the chief roles, hinges on the payment of the huge sum of money which makes that title. The money is carried in a big suitcase.
