Manager Helm of the Grand Opera has gone to Blunt and Miller on show business. Mrs. J. F. Fisk is at home to a party of her friends, from 5 to 8 o'clock this evening, at her castle-oa- th e-Jim.

The geniality of this morning's temperature was not to be sneezed at. Yet those who sat by an open window sneezed at it A Grant and daughters went home to Eossville, Illinois, Friday. They have been visiting Beadle county relatives for a week. The air has been smoky all day. It is believed that the smoke comes from the prairie fires to the west and northwest of the city.

Passengers from the east to day state that they passed through sev- eral showers this forenoon. The new post-office (room is virtual- ly completed, except the glazing.

The glass has not arrived. The dining room ladies of the Miss Amanda DeLong of New York has returned to Huron for an other visit with the H. W. Atherton family and other friends. About 150 persons attended the social in the Presbyterian church, Thursday night.

It was gotten up by the young people of the society who furnished lots of fun and ice- cream and jubilee songs for their patrons. THE young ladies are to devote the profits of this evening's entertain- ment to equipping an ice water booth at the state fair. Citizens' Association. A caucus of the Republican vo ters of the Huron precinct is hereby call- ed to meet at the court house, in the city of Huron, D. on Saturday evening at eight o'clock p. August 28th, 1886, for the purpose of select- ing 23 delegates to represent said Huron precinct in the Republican County Convention, which is to be held at Huron on Wednesday, Sept. 1st, 1886, which said convention is called for the purpose of electing ten delegates to attend the Legislative Convention to be held at Woonsockefc Sept 20th, 1886; also to elect eleven delegates to attend the Territorai convention to be held at Yanktoa Sept 22d, 1886. Street Railway Location. To Property Holders and Citizens In order to avoid impressing visit- ors to the Fair with the idea that the Huron City R'y is to be merely a temporary affair, I have concluded to continue the construction of the line right, along diiring Fair week. In or- der to do this the location of the line must be decided upon at once. I de- sire to invite the attention of the business men and property holders along the following routes to the ad- vantages of such a line to them. One route, on Dakota avenue froai the depot to Whipple's addition.

Another route, from depot to Third street, thence on Third st to Blood- good's addition. Another route, from depot to 3d street, thence on 3d at to Idaho or Utah streets, thence south to the Hills tract. Another route, from depot to oth street, thence south to the Hills tract. Proposals and contributions from the business men and property hold- ers interested these routes are in- vited. The location will he decided upon on Monday, Aug.
