Inez was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Linda S. Sprague, one granddaughter, Nancy Estabrook, one brother and seven sisters.

Louise Adamson CALAMUS, Iowa A memorial service for Louise (Mrs. Edward Adamson, 89, Calamus, Iowa, that was previously scheduled for today has been postponed. Inez will be deeply missed by her husband, Harold, of Letts; three daughters, JoAnne Luebke, of Joliet, Illinois, Judy L. Ranson, of Muscatine, and Deanna R.

Stuart and her husband, Bill, of Letts; six grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; son-in-law, Robert Stephens, of Wapello; special Inez J. CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa John Joseph "Red" O'Connell, 85, of Cottage Grove Place, Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died at University Hospitals in Iowa City following a traffic accident in Cedar Rapids, February 27, 2007. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Matthew's Catholic Church, 2310 First Avenue NE with Father Mark Osterhaus presiding, followed by Military Honors presented by American Legion Hanford Post 5. Visitation will be today at Teahen Funeral Home, 3100 Avenue NW, from 4 to 8 p.m.

After graduating from Coe College, John worked at Peoples Bank with such distinguished colleagues as Ted Welch. While working at the bank he was approached by Robert Loftus to join Loftus Distributing, a wholesale lumber company in Cedar Rapids. John became one of the company's top salesmen making numerous friends throughout Eastern Iowa.

In 1964 following the sudden death of Bob Loftus, John purchased the lumber wholesale business under the official name John J. O'Connell Wholesale Lumber Company but continued to do business as Loftus Distributing. He was most proud of building a company with his sons. The company officially closed in 2004 but John continued to work out of the office at 3rd Street and 9th Avenue until his death. John was a distinguished fourth degree knight with the Knights of Columbus 909 and a member of the Elks Lodge.

Besides his love for his family, John loved music. He directed the Men's Chorus at St. Matthews for many years even though he had no formal music training. John was a kind and loving Irishman who could be very stubborn. He loved Notre Dame football and the United States Navy.

He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. Cead Mile Failte to the House of the Lord and until we meet again may He keep you in the palm of His hand. Instead of flowers memorials may be directed to St. Matthew's Parish Capital Campaign. Veryle Bruner KEITHSBURG, 111.

Veryle (Young) Bruner, 93, Keithsburg, 111., died Feb. 28, 2007. Services are 3 p.m. Saturday at First Christian Church, Keithsburg. Visitation is two hours before.

John was born in Cedar Rapids, August 6, 1921, to John Joseph "Jack" O'Connell, and Julia Scanlon O'Connell. Growing up in Cedar Rapids he attended Immaculate Conception School where he had many fond memories. He attended daily Mass even when traveling. His faith was very important to him and saw him through World War II, where he served as a signalman first class on the U.S.S. Sanborn in the South Pacific.

He had many stories about his service, especially in the Battle for Guadalcanal. He returned to Cedar Rapids and attended Coe College on the G.I. Bill and graduated with honors, including Phi Beta Kappa. He married Barbara Ryan on September 21, 1947, at Immaculate Conception Church. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this year.
