Mr. Green Green, 76, of Davenport passed away on Sunday, February 20, 2005, at Genesis Medical Center-East Campus, Davenport. Funeral services will be 7 p.m. Thursday, February 24, 2005, in the Runge Mortuary Chapel.

Visitation will be 6-7 p.m. Thursday at the mortuary. Private interment will be in the Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Davenport Elk's Lodge. He was born May 9, 1928, in Santa Fe, New Mexico, the son of Harley and Marge Gamber.

Mr. Green served in the U.S. Army. On August 16, 1969, he married Geneva Riggs in Chicago, Illinois. He retired from Wagner's Printers in Davenport in 1993.

His memberships include Davenport Elk's Lodge and he was a lifetime member of the Craftsman's Club. He was an avid golfer. Survivors include his wife, Geneva; children, Dot (Jake) Richards, Robert (Mary) Riggs, Tammy (Jon) Kettleson, Cindy Riggs and Mike Webb; 10 grandchildren; three greatgrandchildren; and a brother, Richard Green, residing in South Carolina. He was preceded in death by his parents. Arlene Hamilton HOUSTON, Texas Arlene Joyce Weiskopf Hamilton, passed away at 2:30 a.m.

on day morning, February 20, at Methodist Hospital i in ton, Texas. Mrs. Hamilton been in declining health for past year. She was born in ahue, Iowa, to Edwin and Mrs. Hamilton Weiskopf and grew up on the Weiskopf family farm in Eldridge, Iowa.

As a youngster, she was an Mrs. Hamilton avid horsewoman and enjoyed riding competitively. After grade school in a one-room country school house, she went to high school in nearby Davenport, Iowa, graduating in 1950. Arlene was an excellent student. After she graduated from high school, she went to work for the school board as secretary to the Davenport High School football coach and athletic director.

On April 6, 1952, she married sportscaster, Milo Hamilton. They would have celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary in a few weeks. Arlene was a member of the United Methodist Church. She was also an avid bridge player and reached the degree of silver life master in 2003. Arlene was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her husband, Milo Hamilton; her daughter, Patricia Joy Hamilton Watson of Baldwin, Georgia; her son, Mark Edwin Milo Hamilton of Roswell, Georgia; and her two older sisters, Phyllis Wahlig of Davenport, Iowa, and Kate Dittmer of Eldridge, Iowa. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 5 until 9 p.m. today in the chapel of The Settegast-Kopf 3320 Kirby Drive, Houston. A funeral service will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 23, 2005, in the chapel of The Settegast-Kopf Co.

Holcombe Houston, TX 77025. Beverley Jansen LAKEVIEW, Ark. Beverley Jansen, 74, formerly of Davenport, passed away Wednesdsay, Feb. 9, 2005, in Lakeview, Ark. Beverley Beaumont was born Jan.

29, 1931, in Des Moines to L.A. and Mabel (Linderoth) Beaumont. She moved to Davenport at age 12 and graduated from Davenport High School in 1949. She married Alan Jansen in 1953. They had two children.

Bev moved to Arkansas in 1992 and had been working at Gaston's White River Resort. She is survived by her mother; two brothers, Greg (Joan) Beaumont, of Colorado, and Rick Beaumont, of Florida; two children, Chris (David Gusaas) Jansen, of Davenport, and Jeff (Sally) Jansen, of Cross Plains; and five grandchildren. Virgil Lange DAVENPORT Virgil H. Lange, 86, of Davenport, Iowa, died Sunday, February 20, 2005, at Genesis Medical Center-West Campus, Davenport. Celebra- tion of Life services will be 10 a.m.

Wednesday, February 23, at Weerts Funeral Home, Davenport. Visitation Mr. Lange Mr. Lange will be 4-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. A memorial fund will be established in his name. Mr. Lange was born September 20, 1918, in Fonda, Iowa, to Henry E. and Ida M.

(Carman) Lange. He married Bernadine P. Stumpf on August 31, 1940, in Storm Lake, Iowa. She died November 13, 1993. He served with the U.S.

Army in World War II. He was a supervisor at the Rock Island Arsenal. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Davenport; Moose Lodge of which he was a member since 1968; and the American Legion, since 1944. Survivors include daughters, Joyce (Duane) Hamlin, of Davenport, Iowa, Beverly (Rodney) Weaver, of Phoenix, Arizona, and Carol (Michael) Thompson, of Davenport; grandchildren, Sheri (Douglas) Weeks, Lisa (Glenn) Longval, David (Karen) Weaver, Tami (Dan) McGann, Stephanie (Chris) Thornell, Angela (Stan) Rossmiller, and Michael Thompson; 12 greatgrandchildren; sisters, Beulah (Bud) Murray, of Davenport, and Jean Baker, of Sac City, Iowa; and brother, Leo (Shirley) Lange, of Durant, Iowa. He was preceded in death by a son, Robert.

Sally Ann Ward KERRVILLE, Texas Born in Davenport, Iowa, to Walter Steffen and Roberta Roberts Steffen, Sally graduated from Davenport High School in 1957 and married James Theodore Miller in November of the same year. They moved around the United States with his employment as a newspaper printer. Sally gave birth to their first daughter, Linda, in New York and they finally settled in Riverside, California, where they had another daughter, Deanna, and a set of twins, Deborah and Donald, before divorcing.

Sally spent brief years in Glendale and Huntington Beach, California, where she became a respiratory therapist. She was involved in a second marriage before finding her soul mate and current surviving husband, Francis (Frank) Marion Ward, that included a joyous addition and adoption of Frank's daughter and two granddaughters. Sally and Frank spent the majority of their years together in Bernardino County, splitting their time between their home in Yucaipa and their retreat home in Sky Valley of Desert Hot Springs area of California before retiring to their Sky Valley home. With the majority of children and grandchildren having relocated their lives to the Kerrville, Texas, area, Sally and Frank just currently relocated themselves to Kerrville when Sally met with her sudden and unexpected departure from us. Sally is survived by her husband, Francis Marion Ward; her brothers, Jim Steffen and Marty Steffen, of Iowa; brother, Gary Clow, of California; sister, Barbara Zimmerman, of Iowa; and the following six children: eldest daughter, Linda Lee Elam, of Elko, Nevada; daughter, Dee, and husband, Wayne Hileman, and daughter, Debi Ann Miller, and fiance, John Byrom, of Kerrville, Texas; son, Donald (D.J.), and wife, Dorothy Miller, of Ingram, Texas; daughter, Anita, and husband, Rich Schultz, of Ozark, Missouri; and daughter, Liz Closson, of Kerrville, Texas.

Sally is also survived by the following 19 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. The grandchildren are Mandi Elam, A.J. and wife, Katie Robbins, Ian, and wife, Tiffany Robbins, O.J. Hileman, Jessica Hileman, J.T. Hileman, Thomas McDaniel, Bryan Ensign, Noah Byrom, David Pillatzke, Amanda Byrom, Alicia Pillatzke, Emily Pillatzke, Daniel Miller, and fiancee, Melissa McDaniel, Deanne Miller, and Joshua "Red" Crockett, Darrin Miller, Shawna Fenwick, Angie, and husband, Todd Belt, Jennifer, and husband, Larry Storey, Rhonda Closson, Randy Closson, and Robbie Closson.

The great-grandchildren are Amy Robbins, Brandon McDaniel, Chase Miller, Atlantis Miller, Bradley Belt, Brandon Belt, Joshua Storey, and Jessica Storey. Bettendorf Wayne Mower Newport BETTENDORF It is with deep sorrow that we report the death of Wayne Mowrer Newport, long-time Davenport attorney. Wayne passed away at his home in Bettendorf on February 20, 2005.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, February 23, at Weerts Funeral Home, DavenMr. Newport port. A celebration of life service will be held at the Community of Christ Church, 4221 Brady Street, Davenport, at 11 a.m. Thursday, February 24.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Wayne was born August 17, 1918, in Lake Andes, South Dakota, son of Walter A. Newport and Catherine (Cook) Newport. He spent most of his life in the Davenport area. After graduating from Davenport Central High School, Wayne graduated from the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, class of 1941.

He served in World War II as a gunnery officer and later as Lieutenant Commander of destroyers, the USS Porter and the USS Gregory. On May 31, 1942, he married Mereda Best in Berkeley, California. After the war they moved back to Iowa where he attended the University of Iowa law school, graduating in the spring of 1952. He set up practice with his brother Walter and served many people in Davenport and the surrounding rural areas as their attorney for 50 years. Wayne and Mereda and their children lived in Davenport, Bettendorf and Pleasant Valley.

They were active members of the Community of Christ Church, where Wayne served as Patriarch. Wayne was past president of the Iowa Chapter of the American Cancer Society and served that organization for many years. Wayne and Mereda enjoyed 56 years of happiness together. After Mereda's death, Wayne married Betty Nyberg. They divided their time between Bettendorf and Sun City, Arizona.

Last October they celebrated their 5th wedding anniversary. In spite of Wayne declining health, they continued to enjoy spending time with their families, friends and one another. Wayne is survived by his wife, Betty; his children, Sharon (Don) Heimbuch, of Mason City, Iowa, Steve (Cheryl) Newport, of Bettendorf, Iowa, Rebecca (Doug) Gregory, of Grand Rapids, Michigan, and Gale (Johnny) Newport, of WinstonSalem, North Carolina; his grandchildren, Heather (Devon Weide) Heimbuch, Heidi Heimbuch, Rob (Dana) Heimbuch, Matt and Stephanie Newport, Angela, Daniel and Rachael Gregory, and Brian and Michael Newport; great-grandchildren, Mara and Max Heimbuch; his brother, Walter (Mildred) Newport; several nieces and nephews; and Betty's children, Roger (Arlene) Nyberg and Paula (Dale) Schrad, and their families. Services are 10 a.m. Wednesday at Trinity Episcopal Church, Rock Island, where he was a lifelong member. Burial will be in National Mr. Hallgren Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal. Visitation will be 3 to 7 p.m.

today at Wheelan Funeral Home, Rock Island. Memorials may be made to either Trinity Episcopal Church or to the Alzheimers Association. Warren was born November 27, 1922, in Rock Island, a son of Elmer Hallgren and Georgia (Braithwaite) Hallgren. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II.

He served on the USS Coral CVE 57 for three years in the South Pacific Theater. During this time he represented his ship in boxing and later was a Golden Gloves boxer. He married Amber Riecke on June 14, 1947, in Rock Island. For many years, Warren coowned and operated H. and H.

Music Moline, with his brother. Following his retirehe "ment served as Director of Civil from the music company, Defense for Rock Island County, He also served as a precinct committeeman. His memberships included the Rock Island Elks Club, Viking Club, Moline, Moline American Legion Post 246, Moline VFW Post 2153, 40 8 Voiture 237, and Oakwood Country Club, Coal Valley. He was an avid golfer. At Oakwood, he was a club champion and also achieved a hole-in-one.

His other interests included traveling, in general, and in his R.V., and boating. Surviving are his wife, Amber, Rock Island; children (and spouses), Rick (Judy) Hallgren, Las Vegas, Holly (Bill) Hansen, Rock Island, and Becky Rowe, Moline; grandchildren, Alison, Mackenzie, Georgia, Richie, Sarah, and Emily; great-grandson, Isaac; sister-inlaw, Joyce Hallgren, Moline; and a cousin (and spouse), Darlene (Jerry) Moody, Port Byron, Ill. He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Robert Carl Hallgren, and a brother, Robert M. Hallgren. She married DuWayne Earl Turney on April 17, 1933, in Dixon, Ill. He preceded her in death on Oct. 24, 1979. Anna was a member of the Presbyterian Church, Milan and the Presbyterian Women's Association, served as a Deacon, and a member of the Ruth and Naomi Circle. She retired from Modern Woodmen of America Insurance Company, Rock Island, in December 1971.

Anna was a member of Modern Woodmen of American Auxiliary, the Rock Island Women's Club, The Garden Department of the Women's Club, the Hauberg Senior Citizens, the Rock Island Widows Club, Plus 60 Club and a Carol Club. She enjoyed her family, traveling, reading, and playing cards. Survivors include daughters and (spouse), Elizabeth "Betty" (Donald) Wilson, of Taylor Ridge, and Linda Mulkey, of Bettendorf; five grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and a very special friend, Kenneth Mulkey. Bob currently was employed at Williams White Co. as a mechanical engineer. He had been employed there for 41 years. Bob loved to fish and was an avid hunter. He also enjoyed remodeling.

He loved spending time with his family and sharing his love for the outdoors with his grandkids. Survivors include his wife, Cheryl; children, Angie (Mike) Neylon, Geneva, Jeff (Stacey) Burgert, Orion, and Troy (Angie) Kenney, Moline; grandchildren, Jennie and Eric Neylon, Luke and Adam Burgert, and Emma and Katelyn Kenney; mother, Buda Larson; sister, Linda (Larry) Pool, Woodland Park, brother, Mike (Natalie) Burgert, Solon, Iowa; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother and brother, Michael. Lyle Harmon ALEDO, Ill. Lyle Harmon, 88, of rural Aledo, Illinois, died Sunday, February 20, 2005, in Trinity Medical Center West Campus, Rock Island. Services are 2 p.m. Wednesday at St.

Matthew Lutheran Church, Milan, with the Rev. Mr. Harmon Robert E. Hagen officiating. Burial is in Zion Lutheran Cemetery, Taylor Ridge, Ill.

Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. today Mr. Harmon at Trimble Funeral and Cremation Center, Coal Valley, Ill. Memorials may be made to the church. Lyle was born September 24, 1916, in Summum, Illinois, to Harvey and Bertha (Sowers) Harmon.

He attended National Youth Association's vocational school in Mattoon, Illinois, where he played on the school's baseball team. He served with the U.S. Army in the Pacific Theater during World War II. Lyle married Darlene Harkey on September 15, 1951, in Rock Island. She died September 20, 2004.

He was employed as a precision grinder at Montgomery Elevator Company's Escalator Plant for 19 years, retiring in 1980. He previously worked for J.I. Case in Rock Island for 16 years, and at the Rock Island Arsenal for two years. He attended St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Milan.

He enjoyed reading, the outdoors, family history, and especially watching his grandchildren play sports. Lyle is survived by four children and their spouses, Dale and Kelly Harmon, of Moline, Amy and Bruce Hunt, of Coal Valley, Eileen and Larry Tysma, of Hillsdale, and Melanie and David Flickinger, of Milan; eight grandchildren, Christopher Thrap Kyle and Alyssa Harmon, Emily and Jacob Tysma, Wyatt and Lilah Flickinger, and Madeleine Hunt; three step-grandchildren; and one great-grandson, Christopher Thrap III. He was preceded in death by his wife, a daughter, Colleen Harmon, one brother, two sisters, three half brothers, and two half sisters.
