In a considerable, number oJ cases sent up from the courts of the justices, of tbepeace we find fthat the' "prpseciiiions are frivolous and can serve, no good md. and we recommend that bounty solicitor, use more judgment in issuing, warrants and 'protect in every way possible the 'courtv treasury from this burden imposed 'on it' by frivolous prosecutions. The grand jurv visited the jail i in a bodv and made a. thorough examination and inspection of that building, with the exception of the apartment used for female prisoners, the building, is probablv kept as clean as it could be under the conditions there. but this apartment is filthv, loathsome and unsanitary and not a fit place in which to confine human being.

We feel sure hat these conditions will be im-proved as soon, as the contemplated improvements are made nn the jail. The poor house committee, Harrison and i'thoriv, 'nrr farm nd reoort eight inmates therein, all apparently well kept and fed, with buildings in fairly good fnditinn. The committee appointed to examine the books of 'be various county officers and be bonds of tbe same, said committee consisting of Akin. Adcock. Soain and I Gorman, report that from their instigation, made in the limit- time, allowed: the books are neatly and correctly kept and be bonds sufficient.
