East Moline Maxine Ullrich DIBOLL, Texas Maxine Ullrich, 80, of Diboll, formerly of East Moline, died Tuesday, Sept. 14, 1999, at a hospital in Lufkin. Private memorial services will be held at Hillird Funeral Home, Van. Maxine Johnson was born April 5, 1919, in Joy, Ill. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul.

Survivors include daughters, Janet Jinkins, Connie Gordon, Pauline Larson and Noreen Joplin; a son, Dale McKahan; 14 grandchildren; 17 great- grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. Rock Island Booker Cole Sr. ROCK ISLAND Services for Booker T. Cole 92, of 1000 5th will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at Hodgson Funeral Home Rock Island.

Mr. Cole died Tuesday, Sept. 14, 1999, at Sharon Pines Healthcare Center, Peoria, Ill. He was the Mr. Cole founder of Mr.

Cole Cole's Refrigeration Air Conditioning Service, which he operated from his home. He had worked at the former International Harvester, Farmall Works, Rock Island. After moving to the Quad-City area in the early 1930s, Mr. Cole became involved with the NAACP in 1938. He was president of the TriCity Branch, serving three terms.

For four years, he was a member of the board and regional vice president of the Illinois Conference of Branches, NAACP. He also was involved in district work. "He was born April 13, 1907, in Belle, to Talton and Anna (Christ) Cole. He married Altha Odessa Lacey on Dec. 25, 1941, in Corinth, Miss.

She died in July 1965. He married Susan Marie Fruzzetti in 1971. He married Mary Lavena Casebolt on June 23, 1976. He had served in the Army. In 1946, he attended the Industrial Training Institute, Chicago.

He was a member of Jehovah's Witnesses, baptized in 1974. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association. 1, 1900, in Germany to Maximillian and Matilda (Miller) Pechmann. She married Emil Kober in September 1920 in Germany. He died in 1985. She came to Rock Island in 1953 from Munich, Germany. She was of the Lutheran faith.

She enjoyed sewing, gardening, cooking and baking. She was an avid tennis fan and kept abreast of current events. Survivors include a daughter, Edith E. Edner, Rock Island; a granddaughter, Edie Holmstrom, Bettendorf; and a great-grandson, Erik Holmstrom, Ames, Iowa. She also was preceded in death by her parents; nine brothers and sisters; and a son, Rolf, in 1950.

Winters on March 23, 1941. She married Valis "Bud" Gilbraith on Dec. 3, 1971. He died Nov. 18, 1986.

Mrs. Gilbraith was employed at Lincoln Fundamental School. She retired in 1984. Since her retirement, she had been active at Gospel Mission Temple, where she was one of the founders, and with Woman's Aglow. He served with the Air Force during World War II as a B-17 and B-29 bomber pilot. He retired with the rank of lieutenant colonel. John enjoyed collecting antiques, traveling, photography, woodworking, gardening, spectator sports, Air Force Reserve activities and pilots reunion 44-K. Bunny was employed at Pink Bus Service, Geneseo, from 1976, and Mesaba Airlines, Moline, from 1991 until the time of her illness in May. Bunny had many special interests, the greatest being her children, her grandchildren, her multitude of friends, gardening, sewing, quilting and working. She and her husband, Clyde, enjoyed flying.

They also were participants in the Love through Understanding program, being both hosts and visitors to Japanese participants in this program. Bunny was born July 5, 1941, in Moline, to Crawford and Madeline (Meirhaghe) Malmstrom. She graduated in 1959 from Riverdale High School. She married Clyde H. Johnson on Dec.

27, 1972. He died in February 1994. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society, Pathway Hospice, St. Jude's and St. Malachy's Catholic Church.

Shea died Wednesday, Sept. 15, 1999, at Crestridge Nursing Home, Maquoketa, after an extended illness. She had taught school in Delmar, Welton and Maquoketa. Doris Watters was born Sept. 3, 1916, in a farmhouse east of Delmar.

She married Joseph Powers in 1940 in Delmar. He died in 1965. She married Clyde Shea in 1969 in Delmar. He died in 1997. Survivors include a daughter, Margo Shouse, Charlotte, N.C.; a son, Martin Powers, Pittsburgh; six grandchildren; and two great- Jeannette McMahon MORRISON, Ill.

Services for Jeannette M. McMahon, 80, of 201 Cedar will be noon Saturday at Morrison Chapel of Bosma-Renkes Funeral Home. Burial will be in Grove Hill Cemetery, Morrison. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. today at the funeral home.

Mrs. McMahon died Wednesday, Sept. 15, 1999, at Mercy Medical Center-North Campus, Clinton, Iowa. She was employed as a soil tester at Whiteside County Farm Bureau. Most recently, she was employed as a secretary at Vend-Omack Sales, Morrison.

Jeannette Kool was born Oct. 28, 1918, in Morrison. She married Joseph McMahon in 1942 in Kahoka, Mo. He died in 1973. A memorial fund has been established.

Survivors include sons, Larry, Belvidere, and Dennis, Wheaton; five grandchildren; and five greatgrandchildren. Glenn Irwin MUSCATINE, Iowa Glenn M. Irwin, 89, of Maquoketa, died Thursday, Sept. 16, 1999, at Unity Hospital, Muscatine. Services will be 2 p.m.

Sunday at Geo. M. Wittich-Lewis Funeral Home, Maquoketa. Burial will be in Eliza Creek Cemetery, Eliza, Ill. Visitation is noon to 2 p.m.

Sunday at the funeral home. Mr. Irwin farmed in Eliza Township and was employed many years as a weigh master for the state of Illinois. He was born Aug. 2, 1910, in Mercer County, Ill.

He married Ruth Shellabarger in 1928. She preceded him in death. Memorials may be made to Eliza Community Church. Survivors include five grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. Sunderbruch hosts hog roast fund-raiser Iowa Rep.

John Sunderbruch, R- Davenport, is holding a hog roast and fund-raiser 1-3 p.m. Saturday at 2430 Telegraph Road, Davenport. Special guest will be Iowa House Majority Leader Christopher Rants, a Sioux City Republican. Books on grieving donated Jim Weerts of Weerts Funeral Home, Davenport, has donated 14 books each to the Davenport Public Library, Bettendorf Public Library, Rick's House of Hope and Genesis Medical Center Pastoral Care Department. Weerts says that bringing closure to the grieving process is a necessary step for healing to occur.
