Lavina Robair, Herbert Gieseler To Marry Soon (From Friday's Eagle) Mrs. Arthur Ethier of 138 Mill Street announces the engagement of her daughter, Lavina Irona Robair, to Herbert Gieseler of Plainville, Conn. The wedding will take place this month, and the couple will make their home in Pittsfield.

Miss Robair, daughter of the late Professor Charles Robair, blind musician, of Pittsfield, attended local schools and is employed by the Elmvale Worsted Company. Mr. Black, a graduate of the Webb Institute of Naval Architecture in New York City, is a naval architect at the Annapolis Yacht Yard. He served during the war as a lieutenant in the Naval Reserve at Pearl Harbor and Washington, D.C. Mr. Black is a member of the Society of Naval Archietects.

Mrs. Barry, a graduate of Pittsfield High School and Our Lady of the Elms College, is employed in the GE capacitor engineering section. Mr. Barry -was graduated from St. Joseph's High School, and is employed in the capacitor section of GE.

During 43 months' war service, he spent 38 months in the southwest Pacific, the Philippines and Japan and was discharged about a year ago. He is a member of the Berkshire Bar Association and is secretary and counsel for the Shire City Athletic Club. Harry Syrian Club Plans Minstrel First Annual Show To Be Presented Thursday Evening (From Thursday's Eagle) The first annual minstrel show of the Syrian-American Club will be presented next Thursday at the Pittsfield High School auditorium under the direction of George (Hap) Milne. It will begin at 8.30. Fred Najimy will be interlocutor. Soloists will include Mr. Milne and Miss Eleanor Najimy, Miss Carmela Pulcaro, Miss Marion Kallil, Miss Anne Ziter, Miss Janet Massery, Miss Patty Ta'glieri, Miss Evelyn Lombard! and Miss Alice Betros.

End men and male soloists in addition to Mr. Milne, are Ray George, Thomas Simon, Edeeb Massery, Leo Massery, George Betros and Louis and Ted Shogry- Seven-year-old Donald George will give a song and dance. Miss Betty Stoessel is pianist and musical director for the minstrel. Staging arrangements are under the direction of Miss Evette Ferris and Miss Marie Massery. Tickets are on sale now in leading stores and also will be sold at the door.

Joseph Plotzkys To Observe 50th Anniversary Tomorrow Van Dyke Studio Road, Annapolis. Miss Erlene J. Turner son of Mrs. John Viale of 19 Lenox Avenue. Miss Turner was graduated from Pittsfield High School, and is employed by ttie Agricultural National Bank.

Joseph Plotzky of 748 Tyler Street, proprietors of the Plotzky Department tomorrow will observe their 50th wedding anniversary. They will be Sunday at family dinner for 20 at the home of their son-in- law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Skole of 48 Onota Street. Both natives of Warsaw, Poland, Mr.

and Mrs. Plotzky have been in th'is country 65 years. They were married in New York April 4, 1897, and lived in that city and in upper New York State before coming to Pittsfield 35 years ago. They opened their store immediately aft- months' service the Facific coming here to live. Mrs.

Flotzky is the former Dora Simon of New York. The couple have five children, Mrs. Skole and Isadore Plotzky, wfto is in the store with his father, and Mrs. Harold Blume, Mrs. Maurice Goldman and Mrs.

Alfred Glucken of New York. There also are four grandchildren, Betty, Richard, Allan and Donald Skole. Mr. and Mrs. Plotzky both are in good health and Mr.
