He's a guy who doesn't have an immense amount of personal confidence or strength, and his only way to have any land of romantic experience is to manipulate his way into one. "What he does doesn't come out of any malice or any dark place," the actor adds. "He just wants to love someone and be loved, and he wants to have the experience he's seen so many other guys have. So I think he's actually pretty sympathetic, and I think 'Eternal Sunshine' is an amazing movie." Instead of starring in another "event movie," however, he chose a supporting part in "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind," a brain-bender opening today that was written by Charlie Kaufman who scripted "Being John Malkovich" (1999) and helmed by red-hot music-video director Michel Gondry.
