Bertelsen retired in 1973 as a caterer in Rock Island. Grace Downey married Paul Bertelsen in Rock Island. He died in 1952. She had a large collection of dolls and porcelain and glass collectibles. She enjoyed her flower gardening.

Survivors include many niece's and nephews and a Betty Downey, Aledo. Rose Mary McCauley CAMBRIDGE, 111. Services' for Rose Mary McCauley, 85, formerly of Cambridge, will be 1 p.m. Friday at St. John Vianney Catholic Church, Cambridge.

Burial will be' in Western Township Orion. Visitation will be p.m. to' day at Stackhouse-Moore Funeral Homes, Cambridge, where a rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Mrs. McCauley died Tuesday at.

Good Samaritan Village, Geneseo. Rose Mary DeMunck married" Archie McCauley in 1967 in Jasper, Minn. He died in 1981. She was a member of the church. A memorial fund has been established.

Survivors include a Dorothy (Mrs. Albert) Orion; eight step-grandchildren; and seven step-great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by a stepdaughter, Alice Mariman. BETTENDORF Services for Henry K. Wilcox, 80, of 1140 Meadow Lawn Drive, will be 10 a.m.

Saturday at Our Savior Presbyterian Church, Argo, Iowa. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation Area deaths Harold Stremlow CLINTON, Iowa Harold E. Stremlow, 77, died Wednesday at Samaritan Hospital North, Ginton. The body was cremated.

There will be no visitation or service. Snell-Zomig Funeral Home, Clinton, is in charge of arrangements. Mr. Stremlow retired in 1981 as a custodian after 24 years with Clinton Schools. Before that, he was a packer 18 years at Carstensen Freight Lines, Ginton.

He married Marie Nassif in 1 966 in Clinton. During World War II, he served in the Army. He was a member of Fraternal Order of Eagles. Survivors include his wife; stepdaughters, Margaret Colbert, Keene, N.H.; Bonnie (Mrs. Robert) McManus, Camanche; and Beth (Mrs.

Beth) Jacobsen, Richmond, a stepson, Donald Nassif, Denton, Texas; six step-grandchildren; and brothers, Albert, Clinton; Eugene, of Nebraska; and Robert, Midwest City, Okla. Irene Eggers CLINTON, Iowa Services for Irene H. Cahill Eggers, 94, will be 10 a.m. Friday at St. Irenaeus Cemetery, Clinton.

There will be no visitation. Mrs. Eggers died Tuesday at Convalescent Hospital, San Diego. Cannon Funeral Home, Ginton, is in charge of arrangements. She was involved with Jordon Ladies' Ready-to-Wear Dress Ginton, until she retired in 1952.

She had attended Our Lady of Angels Academy, Clinton. Mrs. Eggers was a former member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church, Clinton, now Prince of Peace Parish. Memorials may be made to the parish.

She also was a cook at Ted's Stop and Eat and worked at the Tick Tock Restaurant. Her memberships included Pythian Sisters and New Hope Baptist Church, both in Buffalo, Iowa. Pierce was a member of Knights of Columbus, several military organizations and BMW Motorcycle Club of America. He loved to travel. A memorial fund has been established. Her hobbies included reading and activities with her children and grandchildren. Survivors include her husband; daughters, Marlene Bloomer and Roberta Roehlk, both of Davenport; and Rosemary Carlyle, Carbon Cliff, III; sons, Larry, Rodney and Jeff, all of Davenport; a stepson, Donald Jurgensen, Des Moines; 23 grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. Lucille Kohlhammer BETTENDORF Lucille L. Kohlhammer, 75, of Spruce Hills Village, died Wednesday. Services will be 2:30 p.m.

Mr. Hoist Mr- Holst retired in 1980 as a mill operator after 21 years at Alcoa, Davenport Works. He married C. Elaine Staggs in 1946 in Davenport. During World War II, he served in the Army.

He received four Bronze Stars for action at the Battle of the Bulge, the Rhineland areas and in Central Europe. He was a former member of Local 105 at Alcoa and enjoyed gardening and the outdoors, especially snowmobiling. Memorials may be made to a favorite charity. Survivors include his wife; a son, Frank A. Hoist, Davenport; sisters, Helen Fleck, Fayette, Iowa; and Ruth (Mrs.

John) Larson, Plainfield, and brothers, Emmett, DeWitt; and Everett, Wildwood, Fla. Roma Ewoldt ELDRIDGE, Iowa Services for Roma C. Ewoldt, 85, will be 9 a.m. Saturday at Faith Lutheran Church, Eldridge. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park.

Karl Pfannebecker KEITHSBURG, 111. Services for Karl J. Pfannebecker, 76, formerly of Davenport, will be 1 p.m. Friday at Jinks Funeral Home, Keithsburg. Burial will be in Green-mound Cemetery, Keithsburg.

Graveside military rites will be conducted by Mercer County Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1571. Visitation will be 1 1 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday. Mr.

Pfannebecker died Tuesday at his home. He was employed at Rock Island Arsenal from 1940-47. After that, he was employed at Keystone Steel and Wire, Peoria, and at Peoria Portions Plant. He retired in 1979 and moved to Keithsburg. He married Vivian Hudgens in 1939 in Missouri.

He married Betty Argo in 1951 in Peoria. During World War II, he served in the Army. He belonged to American Legion Post 461, Yates City. A memorial fund has been established. Survivors include his wife; a son, Gary, Moravia, Iowa; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sisters, Edna Russell, Ger-mantown; and Ruth Johnson, San Antonio, Texas; and a brother, Clifford, Moravia.

Mildred Kay GENESEO, 111. Services for Mildred L. Kay, 91, died Wednesday at Hammond-Henry Hospital Extended Care Unit, Geneseo. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at First Lutheran Church, Geneseo.

Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Geneseo. Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Friday at Myers Chapel of Stackhouse-Moore Funeral Homes, Geneseo. Mildred Hagelin married Lawrence Kay in 1921 in Geneseo. They had owned Kay's Shoe, Geneseo, for many years.

He died in 1990. She was a graduate of Geneseo Collegiate Institute. Mrs. Kay was a member of the church and Miriam Church and a former member of the church choir and had taught Sunday school. She was a former member of Columbian Club, Geneseo, and Geneseo Music Club.

She was proud of her Swedish heritage. She enjoyed flowers, birds, cooking, fishing, her grandchildren, and her dog, Ginger. Memorials may be made to the church. Survivors include a daughter, Dorothy (Mrs. Robert) Sctte, Geneseo; three grandchildren; six greatgrandchildren; and a Ruth Groharing DAVENPORT Ruth M.

Groharing, 86, of Davenport, died Wednesday at Mercy Hospital, Davenport. Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Law-Jones Funeral Home, Thomson, 111. Burial will be in Lower York Cemetery, Thomson. Visitation will be 1-2 p.m.

Saturday. Ruth Smith married Vernon Groharing in 1927. He died in 1987. Mrs. Groharing enjoyed working with crafts, crocheting and rug braiding.

Goodwin, 74, of Spearfish, i S.D., formerly of Davenport, will be 1 p.m. Saturday at Halligan-I McCabe Funeral Home, Daven-; port.

Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friday. Mr. Goodwin died Sunday at Veterans Administration Hospital, Sturgis, S.D.

He was a former grocery sales-man for the former Illinois Wholesale, Rock Island; Hawkeye I Wholesale, Iowa City; and Harrison House, Des Moines. He retired from Rock Island Fruit Co. in 1 1980. He married Joan Martin in 1963 in Geneseo, 111. During World War II, he was an Army drill sergeant.

He served in the Pacific Theater. Mr. Goodwin was past noble grand of the Odd Fellows, had done volunteer work and was a charter member of the National Federation of Blind and Diabetic, Spearfish. He was active with Senior Citizens i and had played an apostle in the Play" in Spearfish. He enjoyed gardening as a hobby.

Services for Michael R. Fisher, 40, 'formerly of Davenport, were Monday at Hollomon-Brown Fu-; neral Home, Bayside Chapel, Vir- ginia Beach. Mr. Fisher died Sunday in Vir-', ginia Beach. He was director of the cardio- pulmonary department 1970s until the early 1980s at Mercy Hospital, Davenport.

After that, he was direc- tor of cardiology at Virginia Beach i General Hospital. He married Pella Serrine in 1973 in Davenport. He was a graduate of the former Marycrest College, Davenport. Memorials may be made to an I education fund for his sons. Survivors include sons, Travis Michael and Ross James, both of Davenport; his mother and stepfather, June and Dwayne Hanson, Oclwcin, Iowa; sisters, Kathy Quam, Oelwein; and Kris ISteil, Virginia Beach; brothers, Richard, Jefferson City, and James, stationed with the military Jn Germany; and his grandmother, Dolores Kamps, Ocwein.

Society holds midsummer fest The American-Scandinavian Association's annual Midsummer celebration will be 7 p.m. Saturday on the Centennial Hall grounds of Augustana College in Rock Island. A highlight of the free event will be the crowning of the Midsummer-Queen and dancing around the maypole. I The Swedish Folk Dancers of Lindsborg, will entertain with; schottisches and a variety of traditional dances. They are accompa-' nied by eight fiddlers and a string bassist.

The group of 50 high school students studies and performs authentic Swedish folk music. Stearman squad heads to Q-C Red Baron Pizza will donate 51 cents to the Muscular Dystrophy, Association for every one of its piz-; zas sold at participating superb; markets between Sunday and June' 20. The nationally recognized Red; Baron Stearman Biplanes will perform June 14-15 over the Quad-Cit-" ies as a highlight of the fund- raising program. Friday at Runge Mortuary, Davenport. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation tired in 1980 as a bookkeeper after 29 years with Schlegel Haag drug stores. Lucille Hankins married Edwin Kohlhammer in 1937 in Davenport. He died in 1979.

She was a member of Northwest Turners, of which she was to receive her 40-year pin. She was a former member of Liedertafel and Ladies of the Moose. Memorials may be made to Visiting Nurses and Homemakers Association of Scott County. Survivors include a daughter, Sandra Robb, Milan, sons, Jack, El Paso, Texas; and Michael, Phoenix; four grandchildren; and sisters, Mary (Mrs. Arthur) Petersen and Marge Kabala, and a brother, Owen Hankins, all of Davenport.

Marie Gott BETTENDORF Services for Marie Gott, 84, formerly of Centerville, Iowa, will be 2 p.m. today at Grace Tabernacle Baptist Church, Centerville. Burial will be in Hanes Cemetery, Centerville. Mrs. Gott died Tuesday at Bettendorf Health Care Center.

Dulcy Funeral Home, Centerville, is in charge of arrangements. McGinnis, Chambers and Sass Funeral Home, Bettendorf, was in charge of local arrangements. Marie McGuire married Charles Gott in 1925 in Centerville. He died in 1973. Memorials may be made to the church.

Survivors include a daughter, Patricia Henton, Omaha, sons, James, Pearl River, Albert, Duane, Jerry and Marvin, all of Davenport; and Donnie, Longview, Texas; 24 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and sisters, Pauline Schomcr, Rock Island; and irene Field, Moline. will be 3-5 and 6-8 p.m. today. Mr. Edwards died Saturday at Friendship Manor, Rock Island.

He was employed as an equipment specialist at Rock Island Arsenal. He married arrangements. Mr8, Ewoldt Roma Matzen married Frank D. Ewoldt in 1931 in Davenport. He died March 6.

She was bookkeeper for her husband's carpentry business. She also was secretary for Eldridge Independent School District Board for several years. She had attended Stone School in LeClaire Township and was a graduate of the former Brown's Business College, Davenport. Mrs. Ewoldt was a member of the church and Eldridge Pythian Sisters and one of the original members of Daisy Belles' Card Club in Eldridge.

Memorials may be made to the church. Survivors include daughters, Anne (Mrs. Harrell) Paschall, Roswcll, N.M.; Elda Ewoldt, Eldridge; and Sandra (Mrs. Dale) Hamann, Sriracha, Thailand; five grandchildren; and nine greatgrandchildren. She also was preceded in death by a brother, Wilbert Matzen, in OctobcJl992.
