2 The Fremont News-Messsnjei Monday, January 4, Water Office Revenues Up; X' Total For Year $428,924 Commissioners Elect Snow; New Officers Begin Terms Revenues collected by the city water office during 1964 totaled $428,924.64. according to a re Xft port compiled Monday by Clerk was $136,844.52, an increase of $73,316 over 1963. Sewage service rates were in- creased to provide financing for. the expansion and improvement of the sewage treatment Wattr bills last year totaled $288,344.16, an increase of $12, 616 over 1963. Jeanne Williamson, Recorder Florence E.

Brown, and County Engineer Dean L. Morgan. James Gabel. The amount is an increase of $83,183.27 over the $345,741.37 collected during 1963. Most of the increase in revenues was caused by the boast by city council of sewage service rates effective last June.

Sargeant took over as county prosecutor this morning, succeeding John D. Starn. Sargeant was sworn in Monday morning by Judge Robert J. Gabel. He filed his bond in the treasurer's office.

He was the last elective official to be sworn in. Dr. Frank A. Visconti took his oath as county coroner for another four-year term from County Veterans Officer Richard Robbins, in his capacity a a notary public. William Bowlus today began working as the new assistant county prosecutor, and Jack McGuire continued as county investigator and Miss Bess Ees-ley as office secretary under reappointment.

Sheriff Dan Haas this morning appointed McGuire as a deputy sheriff to give him arrest powers. Tenant Changes Sheriff Haas and his wife, Ethel, the new matron, moved into the sheriff's home today. Retiring Sheriff Paul moved to his new mobile home south of Hessville on Saturday, and Mrs. Paul, the matron, completed her work Sunday. The Pauls sold most of the furniture they had in the sheriff's home.

The sheriff's department was functioning as usual today. Haas retained all deputies on the Paul staff, and he appointed Wilbur Seip. Bellevue, as the new deputy to succeed himself. Seip took his oath Monday from Clerk of Courts Jeanne Williamson. Other courthouse officials who began four year terms this morning were Clerk of Courts I i' i'f 1 WASHINGTON (AP) Dean Burch's plea in letters to all 132 members of the Republican National Committee that he be allowed to stav on as chairman Probate Judge John W.

Branson has informed Sheriff Dan Haas that it will be up to him as sheriff, under the law, to fix the salary of his wife, Ethel, as the new county jail matron. It will then be up to the judge to approve the salary. Mrs. Ted Paul was paid at the rate of $200 a month as county jail matron when she retired. When she first took over it was up to the probate judge to fix the salary, but the law has been changed since then.

Mrs. Mary Price, McKinley street; Stephen Springer, Morrison street; Alfred Harland, Cherry street; Leonard Edward, Morrison street; Bruce Williams, Ball street; Miss Frances LeJeune, Justice street; Donald Steinberger, Route Sharol Long, Betts- Eight courthouse officials began four-year terms today under higher salaries voted by the special session of the General Assembly, and office-taking-day was highlighted by the reorganization meeting of the board of county commissioners. Lee Snow, who did not have to run for re-election in 1964, was elected chairman of the board, succeeding lxwell Henry, who served two terms as its head. Snow was elected by unanimous vote on motion by Henry and second by James Martin, the new Democratic commissioner. Henry was then unanimously elected secretary on motion by Snow and second by Martin.

Also by unanimous action, Martin was elected as the Civil Defense representative of the commissioners, a post previously held by Snow. The Martin election was on motion of Henry and secod by Snow. The commissioners will continue to meet on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Keep Personnel The commissioners voted to retain all of their full and part time personnel. The full time employes included Elinor Post, chief clerk for the commissioners: Albert Gschwind, dog warden; Carol Pero, courthouse telep hone switchboard operator; Howard Fink, heating plant engineer and yardman; George E.

Ebright, courthouse first floor janitor; Wilmer Schrock, second floor janitor; Blondell Jackson, janitor's helper on the first floor. Action on officially retaining Helen Leiser, public health nurse, as the county TB nurse, was delayed until Tuesday when the commissioners will take up the matter with Dr. William J. Boswell, health commissioner. The part-time employes retained by the commissioners were Theo Druckenmiller, assistant clerk for the commissioners; Donna Wilson, assistant courthouse switchboard operator; Olive Ebright, janitor's helper on the first floor of the courthouse; Hazel M.

Fink assistant first and second floor janitor; Lewis Marsh, janitor for the Clyde county court; ind Adele Conley, janitress for the Fremont county court. The commissioners said it was not necessary to reappoint Howard Hoodlebrink and his wife as superintendent and matron of the County Home, since their previous appointments have Arthur F. Mylander Arthur F. Mylander, 58, native of Oak Harbor, died Saturday in St. Vincent hospital, Toledo.

He was a resident of Toledo the past 40 years. He retired five years ago after serving as assistant manager 25 years at the Norris Grain company. Surviving are his widow, Helen; 9 son, James Toledo; brothers, Dr. Lester Sandus-y; Millard J. and Vernon both Toledo.

Services will be held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. in the Ansberg-burial in Union cemetery, Oak Harbor. Mrs. Rosemary Margraf Mrs. Rosemary Margraf, 45, Tiffin, sister of Daniel Artullo, Stone street, died Saturday in St.

Vincent's hospital, Toledo. She was admitted two weeks ago. Mrs. Margraf was a member of St. Mary's Catholic church, Tiffin, its Altar and Rosary Society; St.

Francis Guild, and the Ca'Ivert high school Lady Boosters. Surviving are her husband, Daniel; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Matthew Artullo, Tiffin; sons, Michael, Joseph and Steven, all at home; brothers, Anthony, Findlay; Michael and Joseph, both of Tiffin, and Daniel of Fremont. Friends may call a't the Hoffmann mortuary, Tiffin, where the Rosary will be recited Monday at 7:30 p.m.

A Requiem Mass will be offered Tuesday at 9 a.m. in St. Mary's church, with burial to be in the parish cemetery. William L. Blausey GIBSONBURG William L.

Blausey, 77, Route 1, died early Monday at his home. He had been in failing health several years. In his earlier life. Mr. Bla-u-sey worked in the oil fields and later became a farmer.

Mr. Blausey was a member of Garfield Memorial Church of Christ, The native of Gibsonburg was born April 2, 1887, son of David H. and Minnie DonneLs Blausey. He married Florence Ba'ker December 22, 1914. She survives.

Also surviving are sons, Lloyd Gibsonburg; Donald D. and Billy both of Pemberville; Dale Fremont; daughters, Mrs. Garnet H. Hetrick, Gibsonburg, and Mrs. Irene M.

Miller, Fremont. There are 11 grandchildren. Friends may call at the Veh and Son funeral home beginning Monday at 7 p.m. Services will be held there Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. with the Rev.

Ralph Clink of Custar officiating. Burial will be in West Union cemetery. Mrs. Russell Homier Mrs. Helen A.

Homier, 62, wife of Russell Homier, Route 4, Riley township, died Sunday at 10:15 p.m. in Memorial hospital of complications. Mrs. Homier and her husband were admitted early Friday following an automobile accident at Ohio avenue and Walnut street. Mr.

Homier remains in the hospital with facial lacerations. Mrs. Homier was admitted with contusions of the chest. Dr. F.

A. Visconti, Sandusky county coroner, said death was not caused by the accident injury, however. Born September 1, 1902 in Hessville, the deceased was the daughter of Nicholas and Ella Upp Warnament. Mrs. Homier had been employed at the H.

J. Heinz company for 29 years. Surviving are daughters, Mrs. Robert (Betty) Cherry, North Fairfield; Mrs, Fred (Millie) Krassow, Mrs. Clayton (Boots) Turner, Mrs.

Herbert (Bernice) Swenty, Mrs. Donna Spears, Mrs. Claire (Ethel) Hirsch, Mrs. Danny (Barbara) Estep, Mrs. Garv (Beverly) Pocock and Miss Edith Hollingshead Miss Edith Hollingshead, 66, 431 west North street, Fostoria, retired clerk of the Ohio Power company and former clerk in the Fremont office, died Sunday at 7 p.m.

in Fostoria City hospital after an illness of several months. Miss Hollingshead was a member of the Fostoria Christian church, King's Daughters, Ohio Power company Veterans Association and a director of the Ohio Savings and Loan company, Fostoria. Miss Hollingshead worked for the power company 45 years before retiring. The native of Fostoria was born January 25, 1898, daughter of Elmer and Alice McClellan Hollingshead. A sister, Mrs.

Nelle Kurtz, Fostoria, is her only survivor. Friends may call at the Mann funeral home, Fostoria, beginning Monday at 7 p.m. Services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Christian church with the Rev. David Weiler officiating.

Burial will be in Fountain cemetery, Fostoria. O. Funeral services for Mrs. Clara Mawer, 71, of Center street, step-mother of Mrs. Harriet Libben, Port Clinton, will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. in the Loomis mortuary.

John Phillips, Bellevue; three 'sons, Walter of Attica; Hubert of Reed township, and Norbert at home; 11 grandchildren, and one sister. Illamae Jean Younkin, 44, of Wayne, and her father, Russell Stiles, 69, of Thomas street. Mrs. Younkin died at 4:45 p.m. Saturday of a heart attack while visiting her father in Fostoria City hospital, where he died 10 hours later. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m.

for Mr. Stiles, a retired employe of the Mennel Milling Co. He is survived by his widow, the former Blanche Ema-hiser; three daughters; two sons; 10 grandchildren; one brother and one sister. At 2 p.m. services will be held for Mrs.

Charles Miller, pastor of Trinity E.U.B. church, Gibsonburg, conducted funeral services Saturday for Mrs. Martha A. Schmidt, 75, wife of Eitel B. Schmidt, Gibsonburg, in the Veh and Son funeral home.

Among Seitz' duties will Lawrence Pugh Funeral services for Lawrence Pugh, 56, of Findlay, were held in that city Saturday. Mr. Pugh, official scorer for Findlay high school's basketball team for many years, died unexpectedly early Thursday at his home, 831 Beech avenue, Findlay. Mr. Pugh, who was in Fremont only a few weeks ago when Findlay cagers played Ross high school, had been principal of Lincoln school for 25 years.

He moved to Findlay in 1930. He was president-elect of the Ohio Elementary Principal's Association. He was a graduate of Findlay college and received his master's degree from Bowling Green State university. Survivors are his widow, the former Glenna Yates; a daughter, Mrs. Harry (Marilyn) Voight, New York City; two grandchildren; sisters, Mrs.

William H. Hartzell and Mrs. Fred Arn, both Findlay, and Mrs. Victor Briggs, Forest. inspection of construction tor city sewage plant project for-which ground was broken Thursday.

in Rosary Cathedral, Toledo. Mrs. Koch, a resident of Toledo 58 years, died Friday in Elm-wood Nursing Home, Green Springs, where she had lived the last six years. There are no immediate survivors. Friends may call at the Coyle mortuary, Collingwood boulevard, Toledo.

Court News ANNA MOSSER WJLL Will of Anna M. Mosser, late of Fremont, has been filed for probate. Her estate will go, one-fifth share each to Joseph A. Mosser, son; Albert Mosser, son; Cecilia Reardon, daughter; Angela Lagrou, daughter; and to the children of a deceased daughter, Rose Widman, namely, Rita Kwiatkowski and James Widman. Son Albert Mosser was nominated as executor without bond.

in Memorial hospital, I I Tt tl fl. Charles H. Lewis UPPER SANDUSKY, O. Funeral services for Charles H. Lewis, 93, a- former lieutenant governor of Ohio, will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m.

in the Bring-man Co. mortuary here. Mr. Lewis, a resident of nearby Harpster, died Saturday in Wyandot Memorial hospital. He was active in Republican politics, serving as lieutenant governor from 1925 to 1927.

He was the former publisher of the Daily Union newspaper and also mayor of Harpster for 20 consecutive years. nine pounds, five and three--" fourths ounces at birth and has been named Loran. The child is the couple's second. The mother is the former Barbara Ann 1. 1 Harold J.

Loffer Funeral services were held in Sandusky Monday for Harold J. Loffer, 67, brother of Mrs. Wallace Shaffer of Fremont. He died Friday in University hospital, Columbus, after an illness of several weeks. Mr.

Loffer retired last October after being employed for 17 years at the New Departure plant. Surviving are his widow, the former Wilma Tabom; two daughters, one son, six grandchildren, the Fremont sister and another sister of Spring Hills, O. Harley, 83, 822 Napoleon street, were held Saturday in the Keller and Son funeral home with the Rev. Ralph Me-theny, pastor of Hayes Memorial Methodist church, officiating. Burial was in Oakwood cemetery. Pallbearers were Dale Ran-del, Edward Hall, Bernard Knisley and Robert Weiler. Mrs.

Harley died Wednesday in Memorial hospital after a long illness. Mrs. Fannie Deemer Mrs. Fannie Hams Deemer, 92, Coconut Grove, widow of Dr. William R.

Deemer, and former Fremont resident, died Saturday night in her home after a lengthy illness. She had been bedfast three years. Surviving are daughters, Miss Ruth Deemer, at home; Mrs. William E. (Elizabeth) Tschu-my, Miami; two grandchildren, Lt.

W. E. (Ted) Tschumy in Germanl, and Ruth D. Tschumy, attending Oberlin college. Services will be held in Coconut Grove with burial to be Thursday in Oakwood cemetery here.

Dr. J. R. Walter, pastor emeritus of the First United Presbyterian church, will conduct graveside rites. Mrs.

Emma Geisbuhler Funeral services for Mrs. Emma Geisbuhler, 86, Toledo, who died Saturday in the Lucas County Home, will be held Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. in the Robinson mortuary, Genoa-. The Rev. Edwin Schaich, pastor of East Christian church, Toledo, will officiate.

Burial will be in Clay cemetery. The deceased was a native of Genoa. She had resided in Toledo many years and had been a resident of the home three months. She had been ill two years. Surviving are sons by a previous marriage, Earl Chambers, Midland, and George Chambers, Clay Center; daughters, Mrs.

Lucille Zeller, Genoa, a-nd Mrs. Edna Huss, Toledo. There are 13 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren. The deceased was born November 1, 1878, daughter of Joseph and Hedwig Funke Kroetz. Her first husband also preceded her in death.

Fetterman Rites Funeral services for Wallace Fetterman, Route 1, retired farmer, were held Saturday in the Karlovetz and Dorfmeyer mortuary. The Rev. Richard Beckman, pastor of Trinity Lutheran church, Kingsway, officiated. Burial was in Oa'kwood cemetery. Pallbearers were Harold Frey, Walter Artz, Robert Bei-er and Robert Atkinson.

11 Manufacturers' Council of the Chamber of Commerce of Sandusky county will sponsor a workshop on export business to be held Monday, January 11, at 6:30 p.m. in Hotel Fremont.
