MONDAY, JULY 13, 1958 WOMEN'S ACTIVITIES Morning Buffet Honors Bride And Bride-To-Be Eller, a bride of the spring, and Miss Jane Carolyn Fearing, whose marriage to William loit Williamson, of Charlotte, takes place next Saturday, were honor guests. A delicious summertime buffet was served from.

the dining room labic, spread with a cloth of work embroidered Knen and centercd by a silver epergne which held an exquisite arrangement of white gladiolus blossoms and white petunas, with gardenias massed at the base. On the buffet luscious pea. and other seasonal fruits were arranged. Multi-colored gladioli were oll the coffec table in the living room and lovely magnolias on the piano. Roses and other garden flowers werre about the rooms.

The bride-elect wore navy, with detail white bead embroidery and, her hostesses gave her a corsage 0i white pompon chrysanthemums and gypsophila. Mrs. Eller's navy dress had balloon sleeves of crepe white organdy. She was presented a corsage of yellow pompons. Guests, with Miss Fearing and Mrs.

Eller, were Mrs. J. G. Fearing, Mrs. L.

B. Grier, Mrs. Thomas A. Allison, Mrs. William Cooper, Mrs.

Frank Clark, Anne Cameron, Miss Allison Long, Miss Anne Louise Rhyne, Miss Jcanne Belle Sherrill, Mrs. 'Chuck' Haywood, Miss Mary Frances Allen and Misses Mary Martin Williamson and Kathy Lee Sturgeon, both of Charlotte. A bride and a bride-elect were honored Friday when Mrs. N. M.

Lewis and Mrs. James L. Pressly were hostesses at a morning party at Mrs. Pressly's home on East Broad extension. Mrs.

Kyle C. Eller, a bride of the spring, Three Hostesses Fete Mrs. Miller Mrs. Bobby Miller, a bride of the summer, was honored at a shower Thursday evening, given by Misses Peggy Brady, Linda Chapman, and Bobbie Jean Lackey at Miss Lackey's home on street. Mrs.

Miller was Miss Pat McDougald before her recent marriage. Informal games were played. prizes going 10 Mrs. Donald Norris, Miss Sherwyne Allie and Miss Linda Chapman. Mrs.

Miller was showered with gifts. Th chostesses presented her a corsage of white carnations to compliment her white organdy dress. Miss Brady and Miss Chapman gave her a set of dinnerware and Mis Lackey's gift to her was a set of sheets and pillow cases. The hostess served dainty sandwiches, individual cakes, and nuts with cold drinks. The living rooms had colorful summer flowers.

JAMES Miss Sharpe And Mr. James Are Married At Winthrop Church In a six o'clock ceremony urday at Winthrop Friends Church. Harmony, Miss Willie Mae Sharpe. of Mrs. Carl W.

Sharpe. Route 2. Harmony, and the late Mr. Sharpe, was married to Byrd 0. James, son of Mr.

and Mrs. C. James, Eastland, Texas. E. Swaim conducted the and wedding music by Mrs Dent Feimster, pianist, and Mrs.

J. H. Middleton, soloist. After the ceremony there was an informal reception at the bride's! home. The bride, given in marriage her brother, Roy R.

Sharpe, wore a wedding gown of Dresden Rose lace over taffeta. The fitted bodice was designed with scoop neckline and pearl and sequin embroidery. and there were cap sleeves with which she wore length mitts of matching lace. The bouffant skirt of lace was accordion pleated and had a chapel-length train. Her fingertip veil of imported -illusion was draped from a headdress of matching lace, with pearl embroidery.

She carried a cascade bouquet of Esther Reed daisies, centered by a white orchid. Mrs. Odas Haynes, sister of the bride. was maid of honor, and the bridesmaids were Mrs. James 'Doub and Mr.

Alton Watkins, bother sisters Sharpe, of niece the bride. the Miss of bride. flower girl. The honor attendant wore Nile green Schiffli embroidered lace. A scalloped cape with mandarin collar was worn over the strapless bodice and the bouffant skirt was of nylon net.

The bridesmaids' dresses, styled like the honor attendant's dress. were of maize lacci and nylon net. All the attendants wore matching headdresses of net and carried cascade bouquets of Shasta daisies. The flower girl wore a white dress, with lace bodice and skirt of net over taffeta. She carried a basket of pastel flowers.

Honor gift from the hostesses was china in her dinnerware. An ice course in bridal motif, with cakes decorated in wedding bell design, was served with lime punch and nuts. Forming a setting for the bridal party was a background of palms and ferns interspersed with tall baskets of white gladiolus and snapdragons and 7-branched candelabra which were lighted immediately preceding the entrance of the bridal party. Wedding music was presented by Mrs. Harold G. Deal, organist. and Miss Carolyn Mills, soprano, of: Statesville.

The bride, escorted by her fath er, wore an original gown of imported Swiss organdy over taffeta, made with a tucked bodice, short sleeves. and a yoke of illusion outlined with applique of embroidered organdy flowers. It was fastened in the back with covered buttons. The bouffant skirt, accented by the organdy floral appliques, extended into a cathedral train. She wore long organdy gaunlets buttoned at the wrists.

Nash changed into a navy blue suit with an orchid corsage. Mr. and Mrs. Nash will reside in Statesville. Mrs.

Nash was graduated from Appaachian State Teachers College with a B.S. degree in Home Economics. She is now a member of the Cool Springs High. school faculty. Forest college and Wake Forest Nash, an alumnus of Waked School of Law, is a member of the law firm of Scott, Collier, and Nash in Statesville.

Reception The parents of the bride entertained several hundred guest at the parish house immediately following the ceremony. Standing at the front door were Mr. and Mrs. G. E.

The table was covered with a blue organdy cloth which had. a gathered skirt extending to the floor. Mrs. Griffin is a graduate of Scotts High school and has been assistant in the office of Dr. W.C. Current, dentist. Mr.

Griffin attended Scotts high school and was employed with Raylass Department Store here before entering the U. S. Marino corps. Mrs. Griffin will be here until August 14 when she will join her husband at Camp Pendleton, Cal.

After the ceremony the bride's parents entertained at an informal cake-cutting honoring the couple. Mrs. Osborne Smith completed the cutting of the cake and Mrs. Grady Munday poured punch. Mixed summer flowers were used about the rooms and the cake was nested in fern and lacelon ruffles.
