Franklin's expedition simply disappeared but Hall's, which was to search for Franklin's team, found a single can- nister indicating Franklin was dead.

Hall reportedly went mad on the journey and claimed someone was trying to poison him. The U.S. Navy initially reported that Hall died of natural causes but when his body was found in the 1960's--still frozen but in good condition after 97 years--arsenic was found in his body.
