Eyre nursery on the school campus where the small fry- some as young as 18 months--are doing things differently from most nursery schools. One facet of the program includes learning to read as a part of growing up, not as something special. TWO ARCTIC TALES (28) 7 p.m. This dramatization of two North Pole John Franklin's in 1845 and Charles Francis Hall's in 1871--features narration by Raymond Massey. Franklin's expedition simply disappeared but Hall's, which was to search for Franklin's team, found a single can- nister indicating Franklin was dead.

Hall reportedly went mad on the journey and claimed someone was trying to poison him. The U.S. Navy initially reported that Hall died of natural causes but when his body was found in the 1960's--still frozen but in good condition after 97 years--arsenic was found in his body. Eric Segal and O.J. Simpson headline the commentators for the track showdown while Chris Schenkel, Bryan Nelson and Dave Marr will deliver expertise on the golf play.
