The latest example is Hal Hol- bvook's "Mark Twain Tonight!" which had already established itself and was enhanced by its TV exposure. Another proven product will be aired at 8:30 tonight in color on channel 4 -- the re-creation jf the B r o a. d w a y musical, "Annie Get Your Gun" with the cast which presented it last summer in Lincoln Center, New York: Ethel Merman as Annie and Bruce Yarnell as Frank Butler, and including Benay Venuta, as Dolly Tale. Miss Venuta, one of the singing rnges of early radio says she was a glamour girl of the 1930s "but I've never been a beauty . , . just a jazzy singer." Miss Merman, who opened in the role of "Annie" on Broadway in 1946 and starred through" the Irving Berlin play's riin of 1,147 performances, scored a return hit when the show was brought back last year.. Like Miss Venuta, she is no beauty, but nobody belts out a tune in the same brashy fashion. She never look a music lesson in her life. She just sings the way she wants to. That was good enough for George Gershwin, Cole Porter and Irving Berlin, who wrote "Annie" for Ethel. Teen Fair The s e c o n d annual "Miss Teen International Pageant" will be presented in color at 9:30 p.m. Saturday, on Channel 7. T h e p a g e a n t , which will originate live in Hollywood, will bring together Miss Teen International finalists from 11 countries--.lapan, France, Sweden, Norway, Italy, Ireland, Canada, Switzerland, England, Ecuador and the United States. Noel H a r r i s o n and Sally Field, two of TV's young stars, will serve as host and hostess of the pageant. The crowning of 1967's Miss Teen Internationa! will climax a year-long, world-wide quest to find the teen girl who best exemplifies "the finest qualities among youth around the world." Seventeen- year-old Ewa Aulin, the blue-eyed, golden-haired Stockholm model who is the reigning Miss Teen International, and who has just completed a year-long tour of world capitals, will crown her successor. There will be two nm- ners-up in the pageant, which places emphasis on appearance, poise, back- g r o u n d a n d ambitious rather than the standard beauty-contest format Contestants must be at leasl 14 and not more than 18 years old. Each contestant in the Miss Teen International competition will be presented initially on the telecast via a previously filmed sequence shot in her own country.
