A whopping 50 Throe California residents injured in the crash of a single-t'rtRine aircraft near Quad-City Airport, Moline, were reported in improved condition Saturday while plans were completed to remove the airplane from a soybean field. Leo Hendricksen. 51. San Ditm his wile, Virginia, 50 and his mother, Alta Hendricksen. 76 were officially reported in fair condition at Moline Pub-lie Hospital.

THEY HAD been reported in guarded condition after the airplane crashed Friday night in a soybean field about one mile east of the airport. Stan Klem, 2W Helling Davenport, service supervisor for Elliott Flying Service Moline, said the downed aircraft would probably be moved out of the farm field today. Me said the investigation of the crash has been completed by the Federal Aviation Authority (FAA). KAA representatives spent most of Saturday at the crash site and also conferred with Hendricksen at the hospital. KLEM SAID results of the FAA investigation would be released at a later date.

Just before the crash, Hendricksen had radioed the Moline airport tower informing them the airplane's engine had suddenly failed. Klem said equipment to move the airplane is available at the Moline airport, He said the wings probably would have to be removed before the fuselage is lifted onto a flatbed truck by a wrecker, Hock Island county sheriff deputies said FAA representatives checked the aircraft's fuel tanks and were unable to draw any measureable amount of gasoline, indicating the plane probably ran out of fuel. AUTHORITIES said they learned the nearly new aircraft had only 84 hours of flying time logged. Kadio equipment in the aircraft was valued at $30,000 by Hendricksen. He also said the aircraft itself cost $35,000, authorities said.

The damaged airplane is salvageable, Klem said, and he has been in contact with a firm that carried the insurance on the airplane. "We do not foresee any problems getting the airplane out of the field once we have full clearance to do so," Klem said. Iceland (APi It was Bobby Fischers move Saturday night to break the deadlock threatening the richest chess match ever arranged. The 29-year-old American grand master was balking at a chance to end the Soviet Union's monopoly on the world chess crown because of a last-minute money dispute he created himself. Fischer was in New York on the eve of the matching holding out for more money. The problem was his attempt to grab a share of the gate receipts collected during his 24-game match with world champion Boris Spassky of Russia, to begin this afternoon.

Fischer wants 30 per 4 3 Casual Pants; Dress Pants; fj LORSHEI straight legs and Flares to $30. Close-out at 1 tf- cent of the gate. His eleventh-hour demand for more money than provided in the original agreement was rejected by the Icelandic Chess Federation, which organized the match. Two meetings between federation president Gudmundur Thorarinsson and Andrew Davis, a New York lawyer representing Fischer, produced "some results," Thorarinsson said. But "there are still some difficulties." he added.

Asked if Davis had promised that his client would show up for the opening match, Thorarinsson replied: "We have no assurance." Thorarinsson had another talk with Davis Saturday night with no apparent result. There was a possibility of another meeting. Sources on the sidelines of the negotiations said they expected Fisher to arrive today, but conceded they had no firm evidence. The original terms included prize money of $125,000, with five-eighths going to the winner, and an even split of 60 per cent of the income derived from the sale of television and film rights to the match. The purse was 10 times greater than any previous offered for the world title.

If Fischer doesn't appear for the match, Spassky would retain the title. It also was likely the International Chess Federation would apply strict sanctions against Fischer in future tournaments the federation sponsors.
