Tb partios were arrested, and the Mayor, on yesterday, fined them ill each, includ-ing costa. 1 HAMILTON.

-TBI SALOOM-inms CotJuciu-Aecordlng to previous arrangement, aeveral of the principal Mloon-keeper of Hamilton met at Beckett's Hall on Wednesday tvenlag to organize Saloon keepers' Association, for tha protection of those engaged In that peculiar business. Tha paassge of th Adair Liquor Law several months ago had a tendency to bring th saloon keepers together at on tlm for the purpose of testing the constitutionality of tb bill, and aiding those against whom Judgments should bo found for damages under the provisions of tbe law. Several suits wers brought against divers saloon-keepers In various part of the county by th wives of lnebrtat hssbsnds, and by others dependent upon them, but only in two cases was ther any thing recovered, and in those simply through a compro. mil with tb defendant. Tbo Association foil through for want of support Th recent action of J.

B. Lawder, tb nw Mayor of Hamilton, in issulnrhls Hnndsv nm. elsmation requiting coffee-houses and all other places of butinass to close on that day bas bad the effect to consolidate the beer Interetta again, and under a call from 8ve of the principal proprietors of tslooos, tbe meeting was held on Wednesday evening. Tb mooting wat organized by Benjamin Dill being made Chairman, aud J. M.

Warwick, a Justice of th Peace, ia tbe First Ward, Secretary. On motion aCommitteecoraposedofone from each wru wasapuoiuuMitoaralta constitution and by-law for th government of th Asaociation, rontittlngof David Bilev, Flrtt Ward; Fiank Foot, Becond, Ward: George Sehrlrhte, Third Dlefenbach, Third Ward. ThCbairmaa stated the object of the meeting, which wa to unit tb saloon-keepers In resitting the annnal license tag of rO, Impoiied by th General Government upon saloon-keepers. It is nrobablr nsceaasrv to staia a prominent attorney of tb Butler County bar had, previous to tho calling of the meeting, a. vised th nrlnclpal laloon-keepert of tbe city that he could dofest the collection of the tax in th United States Courts, and, in addition, would recover bark all that thev had ever paid the Gov-ermueut for such licenses, for fifty per aent of the amount recovered, and would chargo nothing for his service If he should fall.

This flattering statement undoubtedly bad more to do with call-Ing the taloon keeners together thsn th Mayor's bumlay proclamation. This I shown by the fact that the proprietors of the largo saloons propose closing their shops 00 Sunday, and to require tb Mayor to enforce th ordluaao atrictly la regard to others also who perform common labor 00 Sunday. The Chairman of the meeting stated that he intended to close his saloon on Sunday as required by the ordiuance, as a strict compliance with the ordinance would teach the people of Hamilton a lo-son for having elected a Republican Mayor. As the annual license tax la payable tb first or May, th saloon-keeper hav but a short time to prepare to resist the oollaeiioa of tb tax by appealing to the Courts. rr The Association then adjourned to meet nest Wadaasday awning.
