Brezene, age 62, of Whiting, IN, passed away Saturday, April 7, 2007 at St. Margaret Hospital following a lingering illness. He is survived by his wife, Janet (Forauer) of Whiting, IN; son, Paul; mother, Mary Jane; and brother, George all of Whiting, IN; three sisters-in-law: Nancy Koselke of Whiting, IN, Marianne (Joseph) Matlon of St. John, IN and Cynthia Brezene of Remer, MN. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Lastly, he is survived by his loyal companion "Greta" the German Shepherd. Mr. Brezene was preceded in death by his father, Mike; and brother, Michael. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 12, 2007 (time pending) at Owens Funeral Home, Calumet Ave. at 119th Street, Whiting, IN.

Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday, April 11, 2007 from p.m. A vigil service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday with Fr. John Kovach of St. Mary Byzantine Church.

Burial will be at St. John Cemetery, Hammond, IN. Mr. Brezene was a multi-talented individual. Following his graduation from Whiting High School and St.

Joseph College of Rensselaer, he attended Indiana University where attained his MBA. He taught at St. Mary, Catholic School in East Chicago, IN; also at I.U. and Calumet College. Dario became a Certified Public Accountant.

He was an excellent wood worker, crafting toy trains and various other wooden toys. Dario was also an avid fisherman. He was a retired Chief Financial Officer of NICTD, Chesterton, IN and a retiree of Pullman Leasing. Gifts may be made to a charity of choice. "My dad was very patriotic and proud of the time he spent in the military," Tara Stanley said, noting even her father's favorite holiday, the Fourth of July, signified that patriotism for his country. "Dad really loved the Fourth of July. It was a holiday he looked forward to, and one we celebrated with lots of fireworks. He and my (twin) brother, Justin, would put together the display, and we always had a bang up time every year." Stanley said she and her father always had a good relationship. She said in later years she enjoyed the fact that he would try and accompany her to her dog's obedience classes every week.

"My dad was having some serious health problems, but he would still call me every week to let me know he was coming with me and my dog Zuma to the classes. He looked forward to that, and so did his daughter said. Stanley said she credits her father with being her inspiration in pursuing a career as a veterinary technician. "Dad was a good influence in my life, and I thank him for that," she said. Justin Stanley, a student at Purdue University in West Lafayette, said he and his father shared the camaraderie of being avid sports fans of the Chicago Bears and Cubs.

"We liked both teams, and tried to follow their games," Stanley. said. Stanley said he also liked his father's wry sense of humor and admired his talents as a master carpenter. "He was excellent in that trade. He could build any kind of home and remodel the interiors very well," Stanley said.

JEFFERY D. BETHEL LORRAINE CLIFFORD ALICE B. FIGURSKI PORTAGE (NEE SANDERS) MUNSTER LOWELL Jeffery D. Bethel, age 36, of Portage, IN, passed away Thursday, April 5, 2007. He is survived by his mother, Arlene Bethel of Portage, IN; father, Donald (Rose) Bethel of FL; sister, Donna (William) Dixon of Westville; brother, Phillip Bethel of MS; and grandmother, Jean Szpakowski of Valparaiso, IN.

Harring (deceased 2000) on May 30, 1945. She was a retired Nursery School Teacher and Education Aide. Marjorie is survived by son, Brock Harring of Peotone, IL, daughters, Rebecca (Keith) Walter of Highland, IN and Debra (Jack) Canna of Orland Park, IL; five grandchildren, four greatgrandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
