George grew up in Homewood, and was a graduate of Homewood Flossmoor High School. He recently moved to New Albany Indiana.

George will be deeply missed by all. Survivors include his two former wives, Lea and Pat; daughter, Heather (James) Thurber; and son, Scott (Amanda) Eirich; brothers, Robert (Diane) Eirich, and David (Carolyn) Eirich; nieces, Laura and Emily; nephew, Jeffrey; granddaughters, Amelia Thurber and Emma Eirich.
