Fremont, area deaths Leroy Barnheiser LeRoy Barnheiser, 79, suffered an apparent heart attack Sunday at his home at 1700 River Ballville Township, and was dead on arrival at Memorial Hospital. Mr. Barnheiser was an active member of the First Church of God, serving as a board member a and a Sunday School teacher. He was a veteran of World War serving in the Argonne Forest. He was a retired cutter for the former Howard Zink Corp.

Born Jan. 25, 1896, in McCutchenville, he was the son of the late Peter and Mary (Reardon) Barnheiser. He and Edith Smith were married June 20, 1925, in the East Side Presbyterian parsonage by the Rev. John Todd. Survivors are his widow; a son, Loren, Lorain; daughters, Mrs.

Dale (Marian) Hoy, Mrs. Willis (Virginia) Hausman and Mrs. John (Darlene) Darr, all Fremont; seven grandchildren; one greatgrandchild, and a sister, Mrs. Grace Wrench, Fremont. One brother and two sisters preceded him.

Friends may call today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Weller-Wonderly Funeral Home, where services will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. The Rev. Virgil Binegar will officiate. Walter E.

Nelson Walter E. Nelson, 61, a resident the past 30 years of Mt. Sterling, was dead on arrival Saturday afternoon at Fayette Memorial Hospital, Washington C.H., Ohio. A native of Ohio, he was a disabled veteran of World War II. He was born Jan.

7, 1914, to the late William S. and Elizabeth (Byer) Nelson. His wife, the former Lonnie Harper, and one brother preceded him. Survivors are a son, Wallace E. residence unknown; a sister, Mrs.

Robert (Rose) Rich, Fremont, and his stepmother, Mrs. Viola Nelson, Clyde. There will be no visitation hours at the Karlovetz Funeral Home, where private service will be held Tuesday. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery. Courthouse news Sizemore divorce According to a common pleas court journal entry, divorce has been granted to Kenneth D.

Sizemore, Gibsonburg, Route 1, and Violet Rae Binion Sizemore, Helena Route 1. Blevens divorce The marriage of Trella Ann Blevins, Grand Rapids, Ohio, and Bradley Blevins, Millersville, has been dissolved. Common pleas court approved a separation agreement. Burns divorce Patricia Parsons Burns, 2076 Buckland has been issued divorce in common pleas court from Paul D. Burns.

The court restored the plaintiff's former name, Patricia Parsons. McGrady divorce The marriage of Jennel S. McGrady, County Road 175, and Robert D. McGrady, has been dissolved, according to a common pleas court journal entry. Mrs.

Susan Smith Susan Smith, 91, 1012 Short was taken from her home to Memorial Hospital by Fiser ambulance Sunday at 7:55 a.m., where she was pronounced dead on arrival. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, its Confraternity of the Blessed Sacrament, and the Rosary Society. She was born in Scott Township, Jan. 31, 1884, to the late John and Eva (Buchman) Foos.

She and Harry Smith were married May 8, 1926, in St. Michael's Church, Gibsonburg. He died May 1, 1944. Surviving are daughters, Mrs. Mary Recktenwald, Fremont, and Mrs.

Vincent (Barbara) Saxton, LaVerne, and five grandchildren. Preceding her were six brothers, five sisters and one granddaughter. Funeral Mass will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph Church with burial in St.

Lawrence Cemetery, Gibsonburg. Visitation at the Ochs Funeral Home is today from 7 to 9. p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. with vigil service Tuesday at 8:45 p.m.

Richard P. Gabel Funeral Mass for Richard P. Gabel, 45, 625 Rawson son of Judge and Mrs. Robert J. Gabel, will be Tuesday at 11 a.m.

at St. Ann Catholic Church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. Mr. Gabel was found dead at his home Saturday morning.

According to a family physician death was from natural causes. He was a native of Fremont, born March 23, 1930, to Robert J. and Eleanor (Glenn) Gabel. He was a member of St. Ann Church; United Auto Workers Union and, the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

He was a veteran of the Korean conflict. Mr. Gabel, who was employed at the Ford plant in Sandusky, is survived by his parents; daughters, Marcia, a student at Bowling Green State University, and Beth, Milan; a son, Terrence, Milan; brothers, Glenn, Bellbrook; James; Ludington, Dennis, Fremont; 'sisters, Mrs. John (Mary Ann) Merkel, Chelsea, and Mrs. David (Martha) Zeitzheim, Oak Harbor.

Visitation is today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Ochs Funeral Home, where the Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Lillian Thompson FOSTORIA The death of an elderly woman was discovered Sunday after a concerned neighbor alerted authorities. Seneca County Sheriff's Department said deputies found Lillian Mae Thompson, 65, 1102 Buckley Road, dead on her couch after they were called to her home Sunday afternoon by a neighbor. The neighbor told deputies he had not seen the woman for the last two days.

Dr. O. C. Garlo, Seneca County coroner, will perform an autopsy today. Deputies said no foul play was suspected.

Clarence Garn ELMORE Clarence A. Garn, 73, 17050 W. State Route 105, died Sunday morning in Martin County Hospital, Stewart, Fla. He had been in failing health. Mr.

Garn was a former Woodville businessman, co-owner of the G. G. Garage from 1934 to 1948. He was also the operator of the U-Neda-Rest Motel in Woodville from 1928-63. He was a native of Gibsonburg born Sept.

5, 1902, to the late Oby and Callie (Gamertsfelter) Garn. He and Genevieve Bushnell were married Sept. 16, 1922, and she survives. Other survivors are daughters, Mrs. Joseph (Helen) Peternel, Toledo; Mrs.

Stanley (Geraldine) Slates, Elmore, and Mrs. Paul (Charlotte) Might, Woodville; six grandchildren, and six greatgrandchildren. Mr. Garn was a member of the Portage Lodge No. 305 F.

A.M. and the Ancient and Accepted Scottish Rites, Toledo. The Rev. Mervyn L. Matteson, pastor of the Woodville United Methodist Church, will conduct services Wednesday at 11 a.m.

at the Mollgaard Funeral Home, Woodville. Friends may call there after 2 p.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in West Union Cemetery, Gibsonburg. Memorials may be made to the Otterbein Home or to the church.

Mrs. Hazel Burkett HURON Hazel M. Burkett, 63, 421 Center daughter of Mrs. Mabel Matter, Clyde, died Sunday morning in Good Samaritan Hospital, Sandusky, after an illness of six months. Mrs.

Burkett was the widow of George Burkett, who died in 1974. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Eagles Lodge, American Legion Auxiliary, United Grandmothers Club and the Royal Neighbors Club. She had made her home in Huron the past 25 years and was a well-known cook in the area. Visitation is after 7 p.m. today and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

at the Wheland Funeral Home. Services will be conducted there Wednesday at 11 a.m. by the Rev. L. R.

7 The weather Vickery W. Wyatt OAK HARBOR Services for Vickery W. Wyatt, 56, resident of 300 Harvest Lane since 1971, will be Tuesday at 9:30 a.m. in St. Theresa Church, Windsor, Ontario, Canada.

He was born there May 24, 1919, and had been a resident of the United States since 1950. Mr. Wyatt had been a self-employed consultant and was owner and president of the Oak Harbor Manufacturing Toledo. He was a member of St. Boniface Church and the Knights of Columbus.

Surviving are his mother, Mrs. Florence Wyatt, Windsor; his widow, the former Isabel T. Lefaive; sons, Michael, Columbus; Richard, Aurora, Daniel, Allentown, and Jeffrey, Bowling Green; daughters, Deborah, Toledo, and Cryss and Cyndi, both at home; two grandchildren, and one sister, Mrs. William (June) Graham, Windsor. The body will be removed today at 4 p.m.

Clapp were married June 12, 1901. He died in 1942. The high temperature recorded at the Fremont filtration plant on Sunday was 34. The low during the night was 12. It remained 12 at 8 a.m. today. There was no precipitation recorded on Saturday or Sunday.

Lifesaving class set to begin at local The winter session of senior lifesaving will begin at the YMCA on Monday, Jan. 5, according to Director Ken Williams, who will serve as course instructor. The course will meet for 10 weeks from 7:30 to 10 p.m. each Monday. Those wishing to take the course must be at least 15 years of age on or before March 1, and must be able to swim one-quarter mile in good form using the front crawl, sidestroke and breaststroke.

Williams said all applicants should be in excellent physical condition. Included in the course will be personal safety, survival techniques, identification of aquatic safety hazards, special rescue equipment and techniques, swimming rescues, physical conditioning, minimal first aid skills and cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Those successfully completing the course will receive certificates in YMCA aquatic safety, YMCA and Red Cross senior lifesaving and American Heart Association Rescuer" designation. The registration fee is $3 for YMCA members and $8 for non-members. Two texts, which may be shared among students, must also be purchased.

Advance registration may be made at the YMCA.
