Arrangements are pending at Gerner-Wolf-Brossia-Marsh Funeral Home, Port Clinton. Tamer A. Homsy Died April 15, 2001 Tamer A. Homsy, 73, of Port Clinton, died Sunday at the Toledo Hospital.

Arrangements are pending at Gerner-Wolf-Brossia-Marsh Funeral Home, Port Clinton. Norine A. Walter Oct. 21, 1910 April 15, 2001 Norine A. Walter, 90, formerly of Oak Harbor, died Sunday at the Lutheran Home in Toledo.

She was born in Metamora, Ohio, to Forrest and Beulah (Grove) Kahle. She was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in Martin. She was an Allen Township justice of the peace for eight years, senior judge of flowers shows at the National Council of State Garden Clubs and a member of the American Society of Women Accountants, Public Accountants of Ohio and the Gladiolus Society of Ohio. Surviving are son Richard of Walbridge; daughters Mary Ella Harder of Oak Harbor and Norma Kirk of Largo, and eight grandchildren and several greatgrandchildren.

Visitation: 2 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Robinson-Henn-Brossia Funeral Home, Genoa. The family will be present 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Services: 11 a.m.

Smidutz May 17, 1929 April 14, 2001 Kathryn R. "Kay" Smidutz, 71, of Oak Harbor, died Saturday at H.B. Magruder Hospital in Port Clinton. She was born in Erin, to Devon and Gertie (Bell) Richardson. Mrs.

Smidutz was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Oak Harbor and worked in the kitchen for church dinners for many years. She was the Western Ottawa County coordinator for United Way for many years and was a Brownie and Girl Scout leader. Surviving are her husband, John, who she married on Aug. 14, 1954; son Michael of Oak Harbor; daughters Karen Smidutz of Oak Harbor and Patricia Sostaric of Sandusky; and three grandchildren.

Her parents and son Jeffery are deceased. Visitation: 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Crosser Funeral Home, Oak Harbor. Services: 11 a.m.

Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial: Union Cemetery, Oak. Harbor. Wayne F. 'Pete' Moore Feb.

4, 1946 April 14, 2001 Wayne F. "Pete" Moore, 55, 1035 Hayes died at home Saturday morning. He was born in Lebanon, Va. to James and Erleen (Cash) Moore. He graduated from Clayton Northmont High School near Dayton in 1964.

He received his bachelor's and master's degrees from Eastern Kentucky University. Mr. Moore was a former assistant and head football coach at Ross High School, recording a 70-28- 4 record which is third on the all- MR. MOORE MR. MOORE time Little Giants win list.

He also served as head football coach at Berea (Ky.) High School before serving as an assistant coach at Greenville High School for three years. After leaving Fremont in 1986, he was head coach at Lima Shawnee and Port Clinton high schools. At Lima Shawnee, he was also the baseball coach. In 19 years of coaching high school football, his teams compiled a 128-59-4 record. His Ross teams won Buckeye Conference championships in 1976, 80, 81, 83, 84 and 85.

He was the conference coach of the year in all those years. In 1983, his Ross team advance to the state semifinals. In 1987, he won the National Coach of the Year Silver Award. In 1990, he was a defensive coordinator at Tiffin University before to Ross to coach the linebackers and close out his coaching career. He was a business teacher, retiring from teaching in 1994.

The past few years he served as a host at Memorial Hospital. He was a member of the Ohio High School Football Coaches Association since 1971 and was inducted into both the OHSFCA of Fame and the Ross Sports Hall of Fame in 1998. He served as president of the OHSFCA in 1985, as director from 1979-83 and as secretary-treasurer from 1985-98. He was the head coach of the North team in the OHSFCA North-South game in 1981 and was an assistant coach in that game in 1976. He was an assistant coach for the Ohio team in the Big 33 AllStar Classic against Pennsylvania in 1993 and served as the game's administrator from 1994-99.

He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, the Moose and Elks clubs. Surviving are his wife Nancy, who he married Dec. 18, 1965; daughters Kim Spieldenner of Toledo and Greta of Fremont and son Jim of Anderson S.C.; his stepfather Harry and his mother of Fremont; and five grandchildren. His father and a grandson are deceased.

Visitation: 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Keller-Ochs-Koch Funeral Home. Services: 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, St. John's Lutheran Church.

Retired TV weatherman Joe Ashton dead at 61 Associated Press TOLEDO Joe Ashton, who worked as the weather forecaster on television station WTOL from 1965-79, died Saturday at home of an apparent heart attack. He was 61.

Ashton worked at WTOL for almost 20 years, starting as the farm editor and staff announcer. He also served as station's host of the Dialing for Dollars segment of "The Big Show." In 1979, he became WTOL's director of community relations and retired in 1983 health problems. A native of Youngstown, Ashton attended Ohio University and began his broadcast career at WKBN-TV and radio in Youngstown. He is survived by his wife, Paula; daughters Sara Crosby and Rachel Watson; sisters Mona Colembaro and Margaret Riddle, and two children. Services are planned for Wednesday in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church.

Memorials: To the family. George W. Hendrix May 23, 1936 April 14, 2001 George W. Hendrix, 64, of Marblehead, died Saturday at home. He was born in Port Clinton to Isaac Samuel Hendrix and Dorcas Josephine (Payne) HendrixRegnier.

He married Trudy J. Anderson on Nov. 30, 1957, and she survives. Mr. Hendrix worked for Standard Products for 17 years, served as a reserve police officer for the Port Clinton Police Department for 1 nine years and worked for Bay Point in Marblehead for three years, retiring in 1998.

He was also a commissioned colonel for the Kentucky Colonel Association for 14 years. Also surviving are sons Kevin of Clyde, Brian of Port Clinton and Ryan of Marblehead; daughters Pamela Hendrix of Bellevue and Annette Hendrix of Marblehead; sister Mary Ellen Warnke of Tauares, and two grandchildren. His parents, brother Albert, sister Dolores Ann Netherton and a granddaughter are deceased. Visitation: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

David L. Wheeler Dec. 16, 1947 April 13, 2001 David L. Wheeler, 53, of McPherson Highway, Clyde, died Friday at the Bellevue Hospital. He was born in Pikeville, to Clarence and Vada (Blackburn) Wheeler.

He married Patricia Patrick on June 19, 1970, in Helena, and she survives. Mr. Wheeler was a welder and last worked in the Shipyard in Toledo. Also surviving are daughters Diane Overmyer of Fremont and Gini Jones of Bellevue; sister Betty Ratliff of Pikeville; and six grandchildren. A daughter Christina Wheeler, his parents, a brother Charles and six other infant brothers and sisters are deceased.
