Monday, June 3, 1991, The News-Messenger, Fremont, Ohio RECORDS Deaths Cora Corfman Feb. 16, 1899-June 2, 1991 Cora E. Corfman, 92, of Rural Route 4, Upper Sandusky, died 4:10 p.m. Sunday in Wyandot County Nursing Home. She had been in failing health for two years.

Born in Wyandot County to Jacob J. and R. Lucy (Kuenzli) Haas, she married Isaac R. Corfman on June 24, 1920. He died on Nov.

15, 1982. Mrs. Corfman was a homemaker and had taught school at Smithville One Room School and Eden Centralized School. Surviving are her daughters, Jean Maxwell of Murfreeboro, and Doris Margraf and Miriam Koehler, both of Upper Sandusky; sons, James M. of Nevada, Ohio and Wayne L.

of Fremont; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and. one great-great-grandchild. Preceding her in death were three brothers and four sisters. She was a member of Smithville United Methodist Church and Eden Grange a past member of Enterprise Chapter OES in Sycamore; and she was a Sunday School teacher. will be 11 a.m.

Wednesday in Walton-Moore Funeral Home, 201 W. Saffel Sycamore, Ohio, with burial to follow in Smithville Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the donor's choice. Shirley E. Haar LINDSEY Shirley E. Haar, 68, of Lindsey, died Sunday night at the Bethesda Care Center, Fremont. Arrangements are pending at Crosser Funeral Home, Elmore.

Irene G. Murphy Aug. 21, 1926-June 1, 1991 ELMORE Irene G. Murphy, 64, of Elmore and formerly of Genoa, died Saturday at her daughter's home after an illness of several months. Born in Toledo, she was a daughter of Walter and Irene (Shinavar) Priest.

Mrs. Murphy was a sales clerk for the former LaSalles Department Store, Toledo, for 26 years, retiring in 1967. Surviving are her daughter, Veronica A. Barron of Elmore; son, Leonard J. Syrek of Toledo; four grandchildren; mother, Irene Noel of Toledo, and a brother, Wilbur "Bud" Priest of Sylvania.

Her father and a daughter, Carol Ann, preceded her in death. The funeral was to be conducted at 11 this morning at Robinson-Henn-Brossia Funeral Home, Genoa. Memorials may be made to Toledo Chapter 35, Vietnam Veterans of America. Barnett, 85, of 169 Walnut Bellevue, died Sunday in Bellevue Hospital, Bellevue, due to a lengthy illness.

Born in Elkmont, Ala. to Stoud and Myrtle (Swanner) Sims, she married Walter R. Barnett on Nov. 30, 1925 and he survives. Mrs.

Barnett was a homemaker. Surviving in addition to her husband are her sons, Walter "Bud" and James "Jim," both of Bellevue, and Charles of Clyde; daughters, Jareldean Whaley of Colorado, Dezzie Cox of Florida, Martha Rohrbacher of Clyde, Dorothy Townsend of Bellevue, and Barbara Miller of Alabama; 30 46 two greatgreat grandchildren; brothers, Fagin Tennessee, Samuel Sims of Texas, and Walter Sims of Florida; sister, Alice Glaze of Alabama. Preceding him in death were his parents, one brother and two sisters. She was a member of the Church of The Nazarene, Bellevue, and the Woodmen of the World. Services will be 10 a.m.

Wednesday in the Foos Sons Funeral Home, 311 W. Main Bellevue, with burial to follow in Greenlawn Memory Gardens, Clyde. The Rev. Rick Boomer, of Church of the Nazarene, will officiate the service. Visitation will be 7 to 9 p.m.

Monday and 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in the funeral home. Velda Davenport Dec. 11, 1922-June 1, 1991 Velda E.

Davenport, 68, of Bertha Clyde, died Saturday in the Medical College of Ohio, Toledo, due to a lengthy illness. Born in Sandusky County to Lester and Ada (Elms) Hackenburg she married John D. Davenport on March 18, 1945 and he survives. Mrs. Davenport attended York School and was a homemaker.

Surviving in addition to her husband are her sons, Gary of Fremont, Darl of Bellevue, Dennis of Clyde, and Randy of Green Springs; brother, Glenn Hackenburg of Clyde; sister, Norma Adams of Bellevue; and eight grandchildren. Preceding her in death are her parents and brothers, Floyd, Forrest and Lester, Jr. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Clyde. Services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday in Calvary Baptist Church, Clyde, with burial to follow in Wales Corners, Clyde.

Visitation will be 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. today in the Mitchell-Auxter Funeral Home, Clyde. Thanks, for the love. Hallmark has so many beautiful cards to tell Dad how much you care.

Born in Kansas, Ohio, to Grover and Rose (Mabus) Copley, he married Elnorah Miller on May 15, 1936. She survives.

Also surviving are his son, Dennis Copley of Mogadore, Ohio; daughters, Loretta Robb of Newark, Janice Geib of Akron, Judith Suggs of Massillon, Lucy Skidmore of Colorado Springs, Col. and Wanette Doane of Vandalia, Ohio; brothers, Donald Copley of Gibsonburg and Floyd of Reynoldsburg; sisters, Alice Stainbrook and Betty Ruth, both of Florida, and Winifred Melchior of Toledo; 15 grandchildren; and three greatgrandchildren. Preceding him in death are his sons, Robert and Paul Ernest; brother, Robert; and sisters, Jane, Lynette and Nova. The body was cremated in Florida. Graveside services will be 11 a.m.

Saturday, June 8, in Quinshan Cemetery, near Gibsonburg, with the Rev. Harold Vermillion officiating. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice. Martin Novitski Nov. 22, 1965-May 26, 1991 Martin Novitski, 25, of 3262 Sharp Road, Glenwood, Md.

21738, died May 26 in Maryland due to a motorcycle accident. He was born in Randallstown, to former Fremonters Don and Cecline (Darr) Novitski. Mr. Novitski attended Howard County Community College, Maryland, and was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church, Clarksburg, and was an active member of the youth group of the church.

Surviving are his parents, residing at the same address; brother, Mark of Dayton; sisters, Alisa Loper of Finksburg, Md. and Therese Sides of Laurel, grandmother, Mary E. Darr of Tiffin; and many relatives in the Fremont area. Services were held Wednesday, May 29, in St. Louis Catholic Church, Clarksburg, Md.

Memorials may be made to the youth group of the church. News-Messenger reports A Helena woman was seriously injured in a Saturday evening crash that damaged a 1957 Ford truck, the Highway Patrol in Fremont reported. Karen S. Hammer, 34, of Sandusky County Road 33, was in fair condition this morning at Medical College of Ohio, Toledo. A county ambulance took her to Memorial Hospital, Fremont, and she was later transferred.

Hammer was driving east on Sandusky County Road 33 when she drove off the left side of the road and struck a ditch near Sandusky, County Road 58. The truck rolled over twice before stopping in a field. The Helena Fire Department was called to the accident for rescue efforts. Troopers' reports show there was no seat belt available in the truck. The truck's owner, Dennis Rexroth, also of Sandusky Court News A Fremont woman whose son was severely beaten in February is now facing charges of child endangering, Sandusky County Common Pleas Court records Births May 29 Richard and Barbara DeAngelis, of Findlay, a baby boy, Andrew Richard, born 8:09 p.m.

at Blanchard Valley Hospital, Findlay. He weighed 8 pounds 10 ounces and was inches long. Local grandparents are Louis and Jean DeAngelis of Gibsonburg and Ray, and Virginia Everhart Upper Sandusky. Deputies are still investigating that report. Sunday, Fremont Police reported. John Mincey, 34, Middle dropped a cigarette on his lap while driving eastbound before careening across Wolf Street and into the bar, police said. Mincey intended to go to Memorial Hospital, Fremont, for show. Angelica Lee Hall, 18, 921 Quail Drive, Apt. 2, pleaded innocent May 23 to child endangering charges involving her 2-year-old son Cody Allen Hall, court records show.

Actually, Rodenhauser's one-year prison term was suspended on the condition that he stays out of trouble for two years and reimburses B- C-S Schools for the district computer he stole. treatment, accident reports show. 0 GIBSONBURG A Gibsonburg woman and her young son were injured in a two-car accident Sunday afternoon on West Madison Street, Gibsonburg Police reported. Debra R. Gerwin, 24, and Andrew Gerwin, 4, 735 S. Main were released after treatment at Memorial Hospital, Fremont. Gerwin was driving west on Madison Street and had stopped to prepare for a left turn, police reported.

Douglas Claypool, 17, 612 W. Stevenson Gibsonburg, was driving west behind her and apparently didn't see the woman stop, police said. Claypool then struck Gerwin in the rear. Claypool was cited with following too closely. cal in wording to a child endangering charge filed earlier against Rick Eugene Whatman, 17, Defiance.

Child endangering, a seconddegree felony charge, has a possible penalty of 15 years in prison and a $7,500 fine. Angelica Hall was released without bond until her June 14 trial. In the meantime, Whatman has been in county jail since April when he was indicted by a grand jury on child endangering charges. Whatman was originally arrested on a juvenile charge, but Juvenile Court Judge Brad Culbert ordered the case sent to Sandusky County Common Pleas Court. Whatman's bond is set at $7,500, and his trial will be June 13.
