Malmquist Hobart, IN California John Malmquist, 86, of Hobart, formerly of Orange, California, passed away on Thursday, June 29, 2000. He was bom on March 23, 1914 and raised in Hobart, EN. He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Edwin and Minnie Malmquist and one brother, James. John married Evelyn Sanz on January 12, 1935 and has been married for 65 years. He attended Concordia College in Ft Wayne, IN, for four years preparing for the Lutheran Ministry.

Then graduated from Hobart High School in 1932. He attended Franklin College in Franklin, EN. He worked in Northern Indiana and Michigan John held the rank of Captain in the Michigan National Guard, in Lansing, ML He moved to Orange County, CA in 1961 and worked in the Title Insurance business for 30 years as a Vice President He moved back to Hobart upon retiring on June 21, 1991. John served as a Lay Assistant to the Pastor and Elder in Trinity Lutheran Church in Hobart He served on the ED.C. Tax Abatement Commission for the City of Hobart He was President of Junior Chamber of Commerce in Lansing, ML Past President of Garden Grove Lions Club, served for Lutheran Church in Garden Grove, CA and St Paul's Lutheran Church in Orange, CA He was a Greeter at the Bums Funeral Home for several years.
