Davenport-Bettendorf, Iowa Quad-City Deaths DAVENPORT Anna Mueller, Davenport, KENDALL SERVICES Services for Othel Kendall, Major USAR 75, of 2504 Carey Davenport, will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Hill Fredericks Chapel, Daven- MR. KENDALL (Early Photograph) port.
Burial will be in the Rock Island National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal. Visitation will be after 1 p.m. Monday at the mortuary. Maj. Kendall died Friday in Mercy Hospital after an extended illness.
Maj. Kendall was born in Blue Island, Ill. He married Mary Duncan Putnam April 24, 1922, in Davenport. In civilian life he had been employed as an Ordnance Engineer at the Rock Island Arsenal, retiring in 1964. During World War he was stationed in France.
He was stationed at the Office of the Chief of Ordnance in the Pentagon during World War II. Among the survivors are his wife; a son, Duncan Putnam Kendall, Bettendorf; three grandchildren; a sister, Carroll Dalton, Davenport; and a brother, Harry Kendall, Saginaw, Mich. MRS. HERMAN MARTENS Mrs. Herman Martens, 75, of 1223 Gayman Davenport, died Friday in the Americana Nursing Home, Davenport.
Services will be 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Runge Mor- MRS. MARTENS tuary. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park. Visitation will be after 2 p.m.
today at the mortuary. Memorials may be made to the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Davenport. The former Elfreida Woehlk was born in Davenport. She was married to Herman Martens March, 6, 1919, in Davenport. Mrs.
Martens is survived by her husband: sons, Carl, Erwin, and Roland, all of Davenport, and Arnold, Azusa, daughters, Mrs. Willard Bundy, Cedar Rapids; Mrs. Don Hepner, Davenport, and Mrs. Melvin Norton, Huntington Beach, grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Mrs. Beherns and Mrs.
Roland Westphal, both of Davenport, and a brother, Carl Woehlk, Davenport. MRS. KATHERINE TYRE Mrs. Katherine Tyre, 92, of 811 E. 14th Davenport, died Saturday at the Fejervary Nursing Home, Davenport.
Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at the Sacred Heart MRS. TYRE Cathedral, Davenport. Burial will be in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be after noon today at the Halligan-McCabe Funeral Home, where the Rosary will be recited at 8 p.m.
The former Katherine Cinaer was born in Davenport. She was married to Albert Tyre in 1897 in Davenport. He died in 1956. Mrs. Tyre is survived by a daughter, Mrs.
George Bane, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; a son, Raymond, Chicago; four grandchildren; 19 greatgrandchildren; sisters, Mary Knoll, Dubuque, Iowa, and Woodmen of America. There are no immediate. survivors. MOLINE GUSTAV CARLSON Gustav Carlson, 70, of 2307 19th A Moline, died Saturday in Moline Lutheran Hospital after a brief illness. Services will be 3 p.m.
Monday at the First Covenant Church, Moline. Burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Estates Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Esterdahl Mortuary. Memorials may be made to the First Covenant Church.
Mr. Carlson was born in Moline. He married Esther Oline Sept. 4, 1926 in Moline. He had been employed as all agent for the Rock Island Lines in Moline and later in Rock Island, until retiring in 1967.
Among the survivors are his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Samuel Bishop, Moline; three grandchildren, and a brother, Arthur, Moline. CLAIR V. JOHNSON Clair V. Johnson, 70, of 209 45th Moline, died Saturday at Moline Public Hospital.
Services will be 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Fairman Chapel, Green Rock. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Moline. Visitation will be 7 to 9 p.m. today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Monday at the mortuary. Mr. Johnson was born in Washington, Iowa. He married Lida M. Wigant Oct.
1, 1955, in Galesburg, Ill. He had been employed as a carpenter at the Priester Construction Rock Island. Among the survivors are his wife; a stepdaughter, Helen Stokes, San Ramon, brothers, Roy, Dysart, Iowa, and Orval and Paul, both of Center Point, Iowa, and sisters, Louise Johnson, and Pearl Johnson, both of Center Point. Swanson, formerly of 1566 38th Moline, died Friday in Illinois City, Ill. Services will be 10 a.m. Monday at the Esterdahl Chapel. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2 p.m.
today at the mortuary. Mr. Swanson was born in Moline. He married Edith Johnson June 14, 1909, in Moline. She died in 1934.
He had been employed as a farmer. Among the survivors are sons, Chester, Walter, and Paul, all of Illinois City, and Elmund Reynolds, daughters, Pearl Van Daele, Taylor Ridge; Helen Hausch, Walcott, Iowa, and Mrs. Russell McClatchy, Astico, 19 grandchildren; a brother, Arthur, Orange, and sisters, Irene Schneider, Stockton, Agnes Smith, Glendale, and Georgina Briggs, Santa Maria, Calif. EAST MOLINE CHRISTAIN DAMM Christain a mm, infant daughter, of Mr. and Mrs.
Timothy Damm, of 163 41st East Moline, died shortly after Saturday at Moline Lutheran Hospital. Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Monday at St. Mary's Cemetery, East Moline. Among the survivors are her parents; maternal grandparents, Mr.
and Mrs. Alfred Pisman Colona; maternal great-grandfather, Alfred Pisman East Moline, and maternal great-grandmother, Marie Pisman, Colona. MRS. BERTHA SCHILLING Mrs. Bertha Schilling, 75, of 1944 3rd East Moline, died Saturday at the Prophets River View Nursing Home, Prophetstown, Ill.
Services will be 2 p.m. Monday at the East Moline United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Riverside Cemetery, Moline. Visitation will be after 2 p.m. today at Van Hoe Funeral Home, East Moline.
The former Bertha Edwards was born in Peoria, Ill. She was married to Walter Schilling Jan. 17, 1913, in East Moline. He died in 1966. She was a retired schoolteacher.
Mrs. Schilling is survived by a son, Richard, Erie, a daughter, Mary Lauritzson, East Moline, and 13 grandchildren. STRICKLAND SERVICES Services for Willie H. Strickland, 50, of 3145 8th East Moline, will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Gaines Methodist Chapel, East Moline.
Burial will be in the National Cemetery, Rock Island Arsenal. Visitation will be after noon today at the Nicholson Funeral Home, Rock Island. Mr. Strickland died Thursday. GREEN ROCK HENRY MATTHEWS Henry C.

No. 1, Taylor Ridge, will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Rock Island. Burial will be in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery. Visitation will be after 2 p.m.
Monday at the Hodgson Funeral Home. Mr. Teuscher died Friday in Moline Public Hospital. Mr. Teuscher was born in Rock Island.
He married Marie Martin Feb. 24, 1926, in Rock Island. He had been employed at the J. I. Case until retiring in 1961.
Among the survivors are his wife; daughters, Mrs. Paul Pope, Minneapolis, and Mrs. James Bennett, Taylor Ridge; sons, the Rev. Richard, Scotts Bluff, the Rev. Leland, Ann Arbor, and Robert, St.

Larson, 81, Boscobel, formerly of Davenport, died Friday in Madison, Wis. Services will be Monday in Clinton, Iowa. Mr. Larson was born in Morrison, Ill. He married Elfreida Nygaard.
He had been employed at the Prudential Insurance Davenport, until retiring in 1952. Among the survivors are his wife; a daughter, Mrs. Frank Stein, Davenport; sons, Donald, Bettendorf, and James, Milan; two daughters in Wisconsin; two sisters; two brothers; 17 grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. ARNOLD SERVICES Services for Abraham Arnold, 74, Des Moines, formerly of the Quad-City area, will be noon Monday at the Hill Fredericks Chapel, Davenport. Burial will be in the Tri-City Jewish Cemetery, Davenport.
Mr. Arnold died Friday at the Garden Court Nursing Center, Des Moines, after an extended illness. Mr. Arnold was born in Poland. He formerly was employed at the Rock Island Arsenal and the Bettendorf Shops.
Among the survivors is a brother, Oscar, Chicago, Ill. Area Deaths MRS. WALTER WINKEL DELMAR, Iowa Services for Mrs. Walter Winkel, 67, Delmar, will be 2:30 1 p.m. today at Carson Funeral Home, Maquoketa.
Burial will be in Union Cemetery near Maquoketa. Mrs. Winkel died Friday at Jackson County Public Hospital. The former Zelia Winchip was born in Clinton County. She was married to Mr.
Winkel at Maquoketa in 1924. Mrs. Winkel is survived by her husband; sisters, Mrs. Oma Hartman, Sayre, and Virginia Brandenburg, Delmar, and a brother, Cecil Winchip, Stanwood. MRS.
ALBERT GUTSCHLAG KEWANEE, Ill. Mrs. Al- bert Gutschlag, 61, Kewanee, died early Saturday at Kewanee Public Hospital. Services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Cavanagh and Schueneman Funeral Home here.
Burial will be in Pleasant View Cemetery. Visitation begins at 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. The former Lois Murchison was born in Kewanee. She was married to Mr.

He preceded her in death. Among the survivors are several nieces and nephews. ROCK ISLAND ADA FREDLANDSKY Ada Fredlandsky, 84, formerly of 616 24th Rock Island, died Saturday at the Americana Nursing Home, Moline, after an extended illness. Services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Wheelan Chapel.
Burial will be in the TriCity Jewish Cemetery, Davenport. There will be no visitation. Miss Fredlandsky was born in Russia. She had been employed at the Peterson Harned Von Maur Department Store, Davenport. There are no immediate survivors.
STRUSS SERVICES Services for Mrs. Edward Struss, 92, Shady Lawn Nursing Home, Rock Island, will be 1:30 a.m. Monday at the Hodgson Chapel. Burial will be in Rock Island Memorial Park. Visitation will be after 2 p.m.
today at the funeral home. Mrs. Struss died Friday at St. Anthonys' Hospital. ANNA LAURA WOOD Anna Laura Wood, 81, formerly of 1021 20th Rock Island, died Friday in a Quad-City hospital after an extended illness.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Monday in Chippiannock Cemetery, Rock Island. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Fairman Mortuary, Green Rock. Miss Wood was born in Rock Island.
She had been employed as a secretary at the Modern Mrs. Michael Timm, 38, of 1805 1st Rock Island, died Saturday at St. Anthony's Hospital of injuries received in a car-truck accident July 25th. Her death was the first traffic fatality of the year in the City of Rock Island and brought the Rock Island County toll to 13. SERVICES will be 10 a.m.

Monday at Dudgeon-McCully Funeral Home here. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Moline. Mr. Murray was born at Burlington, a son of Mr. and Mrs.
Richard Murray. He served in the Marines in 1967. Survivors include his parents; a sister, Peggy Decker, Burlington; brothers, Richard and Tom, both of Wapello, and his grandmother, Lucy Murray, Burlington. JOHN L. RASCHKE GENESEO, Ill.

She was married to Mr. Timm Nov. 30, 1963 in Springfield, Ill. Mrs. Timm is survived by her husband; daughters, Mrs.
Jane Scott, Rock Island; Donna, Pam, Gail, Michelle, and Sandra, all at home; a son, Michael, at home; her mother, Mrs. Ruby Pouder, Rock Island; three grandchildren; brothers, Fred, Arthur, and Jack Jacobs, all of Rock Island, and William Pouder, San Bernadino, Calif. Monday at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Edford Township. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Visitation is this evening at Myers Funeral Home, Geneseo. Mr. Raschke was born in Edford Township. He married Fern Adams in 1925. He was a retired farmer and former director of Howard Elementary School near Geneseo.
