Michael J. Rogers has been appointed assistant to the Rev. Louis Robert, pastor of St. Joseph's church, Davenport, it was announced today by the Most Rev. Ralph L.

Hayes, bishop of Davenport. The appointment is one of eight in the diocese. He replaces the Rev. George E. Snell, who has been transferred to St.

Peter's church, Lovilia, as pastor. He will also serve the mission of St. John's Church, Hite-man. Father Rogers was born in Ot-tumwa, and attended St.Ambrose College and St. Paul's Seminary, St.

Paul, Minn. He was ordained June 5, 1954 at the Sacred Heart Cathedral by the Most Rev. Ra'yh L. Hayes, bishop of Davenport. He comes to Davenport from his first assignment as assistant pastor at Sacred Heart Church, Clinton.

Other appointments announced today include: the Rev. H. B. Goers, to pastor of St. Joseph's Chuch, East Pleasant Plain; the Rev.

P. J. Casey, to pastor of St. Mary's Church, Mechanicsville. The Rev.
