Retter graduated from Parkland In June with an associate, in Applied Science Degree ill accounting. He Is now attending of Illinois majoring in accounting. Monday evening dinner guests of Mrs.

BUSICK Ralph R. Buslck, 78, died at 12:45 p.m. Monday, July 1971, at Gibson Community Hospital In Gibson City. He had been a patient 10 days. His funeral will be at 1:30 p.m.

Wednesday at Melvin United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Harry Deffley officiating. Burial will be in Drummer Township Cemetery at Gibson City. He was born Oct. 30, 1892, at Farina, a son of Charles and Sarah Davis Buslck.

He married Blanche Dec, 8, 1914, at Gibson City. They moved to the Melvin area in 1939. Surviving are his wife; two sons, Eugene and Emmerson, Melvin; three grandchildren. Three brothers preceded him in death. MELVIN AREA CENTENNIAL, SEPT.

She is now attending night classes at Parkland College where she is furthering her knowledge In an accounting course. She is a "graduate of Illinois Commercial College.

As a wife and mother of Brent, Brian, and Trina, activities on the homefront are many. Myrtle likes to cook. Both she and her husband Vic enjoy German foods and do a lot of entertaining. She is also serving as Headquarters Chairman of the Melvin Centennial. Right now she and her committee are planning their booth at the Ford County Fair.

The official centennial-headquarters will open in the Melvin Village Building on July 17. Meanwhile, back at the Melvin Post Office the mail must go through (and it does) under the efficient guidance of Myrtle. She recently accompanied the rural mail carrier on her annual tour of the rural facilities. SERVICES HELD FOR MRS. JOHNSON Funeral services for Mrs.

Iva Johnson were held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 3, 1971, at the Danforth Funeral Home in Roberts, with the Rev. Harry Deffley officiating. Burial was in the Melvin Cemetery. Audience Area Grounds. Mrs.

A social evening followed at the Busick home. The 29th anniversary of the Crafts and birthday of Schaeffer were observed. Mr. and Mrs. Edward Freehill will be modeled.

All ladies, old and young, are Invited to the Melvin grade school gym Thursday evening, July at I p.m. There is no admission and STYLE SHOW I TO BE HELD i Mrs. James Shives and her committee are preparing for the style show where authentic centennial gowns and bonnets be many features at the Ford County Fair for the whole family-The teenagers will be dancing Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday nights. They'll have to step aside for Mom and Dad and those who don't dig their kind of music Friday night when Al Pimmlgllo and his band will play for the dancers. Thursday afternoon the Home Talent acts will be Judged in the dance building and the winners will appear that night between the acts of the Beauty Pageant.

Ten lovely young ladies representing the schools of Ford County will vie for the crown. They will be attended by ten alternates. Betty Filip of WCIA will act as MC. HORSE SHOW OPENS FAIR The Fair actually opens Sunday, July 11 with a horse show Sunday. Judging will begin at 12:30 p.m.

Thursday, July 1, 1971 in the Gibson Community Hospital Annex. She was born July 14, 1883, near Melvin, a daughter of Sam, and Dena DeFries Bickel. She vas married to George Johnson, Oct. 9, 1901 at Melvin. He died in 1955.

Mrs. Johnson spent all of her life in the Melvin community until moving to the Gibson Community Hospital Annex in 1965. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs.Leora Boundy, two grand-, sons, six great grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Hannah Foreman of Coldwater, and one brother, Sam Bickel of Melvin. Pallbearers were Ronald Boundy, Robert Boundy, Gary Boundy, Larry Boundy, John Clark and Albert Rutz.

PARADE UNITS PARTICIPATE The Gibson City Centennial parade Saturday and Sibley 4th of July parade Sunday attracted many viewers from Melvin. Some even participated. The VFW Color Guard received awards at both events. Melvin Lions president, Ken Gravlin, decorated his pick up truck for the Melvin unit. Several members threw candy the crowd.

The children of the William Curtises and Jim Arnolds, dressed as pioneers, "plugged" the Melvin Centennial. ATTEND FUNERAL IN BRADLEY Mr. and Mrs. Jack" Donovan and Mrs. Evelyn McPherson of Kankakee attended the funeral services in Bradley last week for Robert Ullom, Clifton.

Mr: Ullom, 50, an office employee of A. O. Smith Corporation, was. a nephew of Mrs. Harvey Strelluf.
