The club was formed to exchange news of home including sharing copies of the magazine "Together Again" which is published by the Transatlantic Brides and Parents Association and contains news of families in London. The organization also enables members and their families to return on "Reunion Flights" to England for visits. In addition the club has a pet project aiding elderly folks with little luxuries of life including personal gifts, according to Mrs.

Norlander Some- people just never seem to slow down and Mrs. Ida Norlander of 14833 Huston Sherman Oaks, heads the list. She is celebrating her 80th birthday in a whirl of parties. Last year, for her 79th birthday present, her children Rickard Norlander, bank executive in Sherman Oaks, and Viola (Mrs. Bob) Stevens, artist in Northwest Valley, arranged for her to travel to Sweden for a visit her homeland.

The celebrant, noted for her Christmas smorgasbords which she serves every year, is a native of Skelderviken in Southern Sweden. She came to the United States in 1900 and to Los Angeles from Chicago in 1912. She has been in the Valley since the late 1940s. Mrs. Norlander's natal date is June 15 and she has.

been celebrating ever since. First she was honored at a tea for 50 guests hosted by her children in her son's Tarzana home. Mrs. John Stark, wife of her grandson, feted her late last week with an Hawaiian themed luncheon for 14 guests and that evening her neighbors and friends gathered for a reception in her home to offer best wishes. Then on Sunday afternoon Mrs.

Norlander entertained with a garden party and smorgasbord which she naturally cooked herself much to the enjoyment of her guests, many of them long standing friends of Swedish descent. She is an active member of Swedish- American Woman's Old Fashioned Garden Club, Cheviot Jrs. Seat Staff on Thursday Cheviot i Junior Woman's Club will hold its annual installation dinner, Thursday at 7 p.m. at Andre's restaurant, 8532 Sepulveda Blvd- Mrs. Sidney Bray, president of the senior club, will seat the new officers and present them with pink and white corsages following the dinner.
