About the widest part nf Alton Lake is adjoining the Sea Scout. base just above Eagle's Nest and the short distance downstream from Portage des Sioux, Mo. Skippers say it is the most ideal part of the lake for sailboating' because much more room IS needed for tacking, Entry fees in all the sailboat races average $1.50.
