5 By TOM CHARLTON Staff Writer The Ector County Library is missing more than 11,000 books, many of which county commissioners hope will be returned during an amnesty month in April. Ector County commissioners today approved the 30-day library amnesty during its regular 10 a.m. meeting at the Ector County Courthouse. The proposal, submitted by county Library Director Ted Campbell, county Treasurer Susie Rippy and Lynn Schofield, who works in the library's Audio Visual Department, will allow delinquent holders of books and other items to return them during the month of April without late charges. The 11,000 overdue or missing volumes would cost an average $8.80 to replace, Campbell has said.

"I thought we had five excellent candidates and it's going to be tough to shift down to one," Turner said. School trustees used experience as one yardstick in selecting the three finalists, he said. ECISD administrators interviewed during the Saturday and Sunday sessions were Deputy Superintendent Lloyd McKee, 56, and Business Manager Bill Walker, 43. From Staff Reports The mother of an 8-year-old Odessa girl told police that a man exposed himself to the child, according to Odessa police reports.
