termers in Tama county The weed known as yellow rocket or winter cress has a yellow blossom and is similar to mustard and is prevalent ia alfalfa small grains and pasture fields this year According to John Reid Tama county weed commissioner this weed is reproduced by seed and can be controlled by mowing prior to seed formation and the 24-D weed killers also give good control It will probably not be hard to control in rotated fields but may create some problems in permanent pasture land or land that ia not used in regular rotation Reid for recording egg production are setting excellent examples of the results of management improvements Whitfield said improved management housing and feeding had brought egg production per birds in 1948 to 207 eggs a year He said that is 20 more eggs per bird
