Media, t'a. Trustee. will soll.a valuable lot of ground on the eastern border of McConnellsburg. Here Lews of Local Interest. We publish this week au Act for the protection of sheep, aud the taxation of dogs.

It is of special interest to sheep raisers, and also to the owners and keepers of dogs. If we may be allowed to express our opinion, we think the act might have been simplified considerably. The method of taxing and collecting the tax on dogs is simple enough aud doubtless the host method, but the mauuer of recovering loss of, or damage to theep by dogs, does not seem very simple, but rather rouudabout and cumbrous. We hardly thiuk the act wits framed by a lawyer. It was enacted at the instance of the sheep raisers of some of the south-western counties of tho state, and if good for them it ought to be good for us: Section 1.

Be it enacted J'C, That from and after the passage of this Act there shall be assessed, levied and collected annually, with other towuship and borough taxes, in each of the townships and boroughs in this loam, Reuben It.
