A Large and Appreciative Audience Out for "Prince Chap." A large and appreciative audience saw the play, "Prince presented at the Academy of Music Saturday evening, and there was that general thawing out which always attends a beautiful play well presented, and in this case the thawing included a copious sprinkling of tears, in respouse to the touching pathos which runs clear through the play. It deals with an American artist in London, and poor. A mother, dying, visits his begs him her little 5-vear-old daughter, Claudia, and out of the greatness of his heart he consents. The play introduces the child at 5, 8 and 18 years of age, and of course they fall in love at last and are married. As the poor artist, Prince Chap, who finally gains fame, fortune and a wife, Cyril Scott was entirely satisfying.

His work 1 is earnest, intelligent and natural, and of a very high order. The little Claudias, Helen Pullman and Edith Speare, are almost wonders, and the older Claudia, Justina Wayne, carries out the role very beautifully. One of the finest characters in the cast was Chas. B. Wells, as Runion, the artist's valet, and another especially good one was Wallace Erskine, as the Earl of Huntington.

Although not an inviting part, Mary Keogh's playing of Phebe Puckers, the scullion, was a remarkable piece cf dramatic work. There were several other good parts well sustained. and with the splendid mounting and careful attention to detail the play was one of the finest of the season. Mrs. Richings arrived in the city Thursday morning, and has a very pleasant acquaintance here, formed during a previous visit. She is a very forceful speaker, quite dramatic in manner and declares "God the foundation of it all." She does not claim to be a test medium, but gave tests along the line of what is sometimes termed mental telepathy, by describing the characteristics of well known citizens whose names were suggested by the audience.

He Opened Series of Special Meetings in the Christian Church Sunday. Evangelist Mitchell, of Lima, opened at the Christian church, on Center street, Sunday, what promises to be a very forceful and successful series of evangelistic meetings, the subjects for which for the coming week have been already announced in these columns. Special attention has been given to the music, and it will be an inspiring feature of the meetings. At the morning service Evangelist Mitchell preached very earnestly on "How to Save Meadville," choosing as his text, We are laborers together with God." Miss Barrett sang a solo very beautifully. Mr.

Mitchell's evening subject "What Does God Care About Meadville?" and his text was, "Come now. let us reason together." This. he said, was the highest compliment the Lord ever paid to man, and from that thought he spoke in the manner of reasoning with his hearers, showing how greatly God cares, not only for the people of Meadville, but for all mankind. Miss Barrett and Mr. Loesch Sang a beautiful duet, and the whole ervice was very earnest and impressive.
