XI COWAN-HENDERSON P.E.O. HAS i.LOVELY LUNCHEON The wedding of Miss Louise Co) Wan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Snrral Ovvan, and Mr. Joe Hen- Jterson of Tulsa, son of Mrs.

Anna Henderson 'of Council. Hill, was 'quietly solemnized in a beautiful ling ceremony, which was read by Rev. A. E. Barnett, pastor of the ITrst Baptist Church at Elm Grove Sunday afternoon at two" o'clock.

The bride wore a sofly tailored ftrock of winter white crepe with Mack accessories. Only relatives and intimate -friends were present at the anony. The young couple will make their home in Tulsa. The groom is graduate of the Council Hill Ugh school. The bride was attending the Checotah schools at the time of her marriage.

vo HAVE SURGERY KEXT WEEK Mrs. Carmen Cunningham will enter the Osteopathic Hospital next Tuesday to undergo a serious major operation. 'Miss Wanda Nichols, of Dallas, flPexas, will arrive next week to Spend Christmas with her parents, Iff. and Mrs. Roy Nichols.

Members of Chapter BX of P.E. O. enjoyed a lovely luncheon Tuesday at 1 o'clock at the home of Mrs. R. J.

Koch, with Mrs. W. A. Ellington as co-hostess. Mrs.

Donal Stidham presented the program and Mrs. Koch played Christmas carols at the piano. Those attending were; Mesdames W. C. Alston, Lionel Edwards, Charles Freeman, Fletcher Hail, ft.

J. Koch, Russell Koch, Fred Ogle, Jondahl, W. E. Scott, Lou Sharpe, George Stidham, Dbnal Stidham, B. H.

Tabor, R. I. West, J. H. Young, and John' Stone Young.

MBS. MARTIN HONORS BRIDE '(. CLUB HAS ANNUAL CHRISTMAS PARTY -Mrs. C. p.

Martin entertained Thursday night with a lovely party and' bridal' shower honoring Mrs. Don Made well, recent bride. Many beautiful gifts were received by the honoree. Refreshments were served by the hostess assisted by her daughter; Mrs. Bob Cathey, to the guests who called between the hours of seven and nine o'clock.

Those present were: Mesdames Lloyd Dobspn, Shelly Sneed, Dan Childress, Imogene White, Milam king, Roy Warwick, Cathey, Roy Madewell, Bob Cathey, Don Madewell, Misses Lena Chenault and Anna. Sneed. Mrs. John McCann entertained Monday night for members of her bridge club at the annual Christmas party. A lovely dinner was served proceeding the games.

Mrs. Lou Sharpe scored high and won the bridge prize. Later in the evening gifts were exchanged by the guests, who included: Mesdames Russell Koch.W. K. Brice, Cecil King, C.

and Mrs. Roy Madewell had as their guests last week, Mr. and Mrs. Jess Phillips and sons, Mrs. Nellie Madewell of Hughson, Calif, and Lt and Mrs.

Harry Smith and daughter of Junction City, Kansas. Lt and Mrs. Smith are also visiting Mrs. Smith's brother, Cpl. Don Madewell, and Mrs.

Madewell in Ft. Worth, Texas. to our many friends and neighbors on this happy holiday. Let the bright spirit of the day fill all your days with the light of cheer and good health. This is the season of the year when we realize more than ever, the value of friendship.
