PAGE TWO VOICE IN EUROPE Reassignment of Radio re quencies Is Blow to Amer icans Across Seas RANKURT Germany March 24 CT) The voice of the Ameri can Army in Europe is being shouted down The American orces network (AN) once heard in many parts of Europe has been blacked out everywhere outside Germany by the reassignment of European ra dio frequencies officials dis closed today Americans and other listeners as far away as Turkey Scandinavia southern rance and Italy once listened to AN Now even in Germany AN has been crippled It broadcasts pri marily to troops and occu pation personnel coverage is now very officials reported are having con siderable difficulty in serving American occupation personnel We have very bad interference from other stations in both east ern and western The officials said they have re ceived numerous letters from out side Germany saying the network no longer can be heard "Some of these letters plead with us to get new the officials said "But finding these frequencies is a terrific problem AH or tne gooa frequencies were allocated in the Copenhagen radio AN lost its best frequency when the Copenhagen agreement reshuffled all European radio fre quencies Although America is pay ing the bill for European recov ery and rearmament the European powers snatched away the best frequencies from American and German stations in the occu pation zone American
